Even though we're going through it
And it makes you feel alone
Just know that I would die for you
Baby I would die for you, yeah
"We're getting a divorce"Narcissa nearly dropped her teacup upon hearing those four words. Her mind went completely blank, and she felt her mouth dry. "Tell me you're joking," She muttered, rolling her eyes. "You want to divorce me? After hundreds of years?"
"Don't act like we had the best relationship. I wanted a divorce for almost just as long, but I never found the courage to do because of our son but now he is no longer a child" The Malfoy Father stated before snorting. "Besides, we both know that we don't love each other. And this marriage was only a way to remain the pure bloodline"
The reality was, the only times the two of them had ever had sex was their honeymoon, to make sure their marriage became official, and the night they both got drunk that one day which ended up conceiving their beloved son.
"Are you going to change me with that young girl?" The dark eyed woman screamed, smashing her teacup against the wall before knocking off the rest of the china off the table.
"Yes" Lucius stated without any hesitation. He leaned back against his chair and folded his arms.
"Do you have any idea how embarrassing and degrading for your son with everybody knowing that his father is fucking a girl few years older than him?!" She shouted, rubbing her hands together.
"All those years I gave lot of care and I sacrificed my own happiness only to give a good facade Infront of people but now, that reached an end. And I do not care what people think of me anymore" The blond wizard said, slowly getting up. "Veronika changed me"
Narcissa looked into her husband's eyes, finally seeing the truth in what he was saying. And deep down, she couldn't help but feel broken-hearted. "You...you really do love her?"
"I do," He whispered as he put his hands on her shoulders.
"What about me?" She asked, unable to hide the tears anymore. "I know we don't love each other, but we've been together for so long...and Draco"
"I wanted us to be a real family...but it's just a lie, Narcissa. And I'm tired of living a lie."
Wiping her eyes, she nodded and gave a soft smile. "I guess we should get the paperwork then..."
"We don't have to rush-"
"No," The witch said, holding her hand up. "I...I think it's best to get it over with"
The wizard stepped closer, raising his finger and poking her chest, pointing at her heart." You are an amazing woman, you were here for this family when times were really rough, Draco loves you so much and I can't lie and say that you aren't a great mother" He closed his eyes and sighed. "But regardless, I cannot be married to you anymore, it's miserable for me...and I know that is miserable for you too. So let's stop being unhappy and go find our happiness, okay? You can take half of what I owe so you can make your way in the world."
At that moment, Narcissa felt something she hadn't felt for him since they first met: attraction. Lucius could have just ruined her by exiling her from his house and their son. Left her with nothing, but here he was, giving her half of what he owed just for the sake of her own happiness.
It was done. Everything signed and sealed. An official notice would be given a week later, and Narcissa would be single again.

Veronika apparated right in front of the magnificent wrought-iron gates. She peered through the bars, but the high yew hedges threw everything in such a gloomy light that she couldnʼt discern whereto the driveway led. Squaring her shoulders, the girl took out her wand and rapped it against the gates. Immediately, the iron started to move, quickly reforming its patterns into a ghastly face.
"Veronika Von Schirach, daughter of Richard Adelheide Von Schirach. I am expected."
The gates swung open as soon as she had stopped speaking. Her legs felt leaden, glancing back to the gates, but the darkness of the hedges had already swallowed them.
ʻYou can do this,ʼ she whispered sharply to herself. Hoping very much that nobody was observing her, she threw her head back, concentrating on the peaceful sky. After few seconds, she continued her marsh until she reached the place and as if the building had waited for her, the door opened and in the doorway stood a man, dressed all in black.
Lucius was frozen, eyes moving only to see that Veronika was dashing towards him. He wondered for a moment that he was hallucinating, but as she grew closer he knew she was real. She caught up to him, throwing her arms around him, his arms were pinned tightly to his sides and he felt like his ribs were about to snap. She let go, putting her hands on his shoulders. Then she just looked at him for a second, her hazel eyes shifting back and forth, her hair plastered around her face by the rain. Her cheeks were kind of pink and she was breathing hard.
"I missed you so much" She said, and it seemed to take her a world of effort to get the words out.
"I missed you as much, dear" Lucius answered and she didn’t say anything for a second, or even move, and he thought it’s clear what he had already thought would happen next. But it didn’t.
She just hugged him again. This time, she didn’t try to crush the life out of him, and he was able to hug her back.
Veronika may not be his first kiss, date or love but she wanted to be his last everything.
