Chapter 13: Sleepless Night

Mirio smiled and waved at Tamaki. The 3 of us sat down on the couch and started talking. I thought of my little brother and stopped paying attention to the boys. I wonder what James is up to. Maybe I should call or text him to check in. I thought to myself. I decided to just text him since it would be easier and the boys wouldn't have to listen to us talking.

Little Bro

Y/n: Hey little dude I just wanted to check in and see how you were doing. I'm thinking that I'll be home later in the afternoon tomorrow.

James: Everything's fine I guess. It's soooo boring without you. I'm going to go to bed though so goodnight!

Y/n: Night little dude see you tomorrow.

As I shut my phone off I yawned and stretched. After today's events I was pretty beat, despite having a nap. "Are you tired Y/n?" Mirio questioned as both him and Tamaki looked over at me. "A little bit yeah, today really tired me out." I replied as I rubbed the back of my neck. The truth is I could have just passed right out then and there but I didn't want to miss anything. Tamaki looked at me as if he knew I was bullshitting them. "It's f-fine if you w-want to go to s-sleep Y/n." he stuttered while still looking at me. "I'm fine, I stay up super late all the time anyway." I replied lightly punching his shoulder. He smiled and I couldn't help but smile back.

"I'm quickly going to shower I'll be back in a bit." Mirio stated as he stood up and walked out of the room. "Okie dokie." I replied before he left. It was just Tamaki and me in the room now. We were sitting right beside each other on the couch. Amajiki seemed really calm as opposed to his usual anxious self. Maybe he's finally comfortable with me. I thought as I mentally fist pumped. "Hey Y/n can I ask you something?" he questioned which startled me a bit. He didn't stutter! "Yeah of course what's up?" I replied.

He took a deep breath before he spoke. "What would you do if you found out one of your friends killed someone?" his question sent shivers down my spine. "I-I don't know. I guess it depends on who and why." I tried to sound calm. "Oh okay." he smiled and looked at me. I didn't bother asking why he wanted to know because he seemed satisfied. "You know it's really weird not hearing you stutter while talking to me Tama." I giggled a bit when his face grew red and he looked down. I wrapped my arm around him and he tensed up but then relaxed and melted into me.

He felt so warm and it made me smile when I felt his arms wrap around my waist and his head on my shoulder. I was leaning against the back of the couch as we sat there. As I moved my legs because they were falling asleep his grip tightened like he didn't want me to leave. "It's alright Tamaki I'm not going to leave." I reassured as I rubbed his back and put my other hand on the back of his head. He nuzzled his face into my neck and we stayed like even when Mirio got back.

"Looks like you two sure got comfy." he stated as he walked up beside us and took a picture. "I'll go get you a thicker blanket if you guys are going to sleep out here." the blonde said as he left and got a queen size comforter. "Thanks Mirio." Tamaki mumbled into the crook of my neck which tickled a bit. "No problem. I'll be in my room if you guys need me." and with that Mirio went back downstairs. I decided to lay down on my back so Tamaki was on top of me which I didn't mind.

"Hey Tamaki? Are you still awake?" I asked the boy who was laying on me. "Mhm." he replied, lifting his head up to look at me with tired eyes. "Sorry if I woke you up. I just didn't know if you were actually comfortable with laying on me." I sighed lightly looking at him. Despite him looking tired he also looked relaxed. "I'm comfy, if you aren't I can move." he replied as he started to get up off of me. I grabbed onto his arm and used it to help pull me up. He didn't seem to mind, once we were both sitting up he got off of the couch. "Do you want a drink or snack?" he asked as he stood up and stretched. "I'll have some water please." I stated with a small smile. He nodded and went to the kitchen, he came back a few minutes later with some snacks and drinks.

I thanked him and took the water he handed me. As I took a sip of the water he brought me I noticed something on his neck. There were a few scratch marks on it that were red and a bit puffy. I wonder where he got those? Maybe when he's anxious he scratches his neck like James does. I thought to myself as he sat back down on the couch beside me. As I was drinking my water thinking about the day's events my phone buzzed. As I picked it up Tamaki looked over curiously.

It was a snap from my cousin Derek. I haven't hung out with him in forever, well since before my parents died. He was 25 years old and still acted like a teenager. I opened the message and he said that he was coming for a visit tomorrow. He's changed a lot since we were kids, he looks great. "Who's that?" Tamaki questioned looking at my phone. "Oh! That's my cousin Derek. I haven't seen him in forever. Well since before my parents died at least." I replied smiling. He just nodded and took a sip of his Pepsi. I put my head on his shoulder and took a picture of us and sent it to him.

I yawned as I put my glass on the table and my phone into my pocket, as I wrapped the blanket around the two of us. From the light coming through the window I was able to see a blush covering his face. He seemed to be warming up to me, but something seemed off. It seemed out of character for him to ask who I was talking to, even if he was just making sure I was okay. There's been a weird atmosphere since he came into the house, I'm not quite sure what it was but it wasn't good.

As I was lost in my thoughts I felt something wrap around my waist. It was Tamaki's arm. Why is he being like this? I mentally questioned as I felt his head rest on my thighs. He seemed tired so I didn't bother to move him or ask him to get off after my legs fell asleep. I didn't sleep much that night on account of my gut telling me something was very wrong.
