(Dallon's POV)
We sat in silence for a while. I continued working on my song and Ryan kept his eyes glued to his phone. I'd glance up at him every once and a while, but nothing changed.The tension was almost unbearable at this point. I sighed and closed my notebook.
"Finish the song?" my friend asks without looking up.
"No, I just need a break." I tapped a melody out with my pencil, humming what words of the song I had written out already.
The sun had started to go down and I still felt like a douche so I started brainstorming how to make it up to Ryan. Well for one I had to cancel my date with Breezy since the gig Ryan had booked was at the same time. It was probably for the best anyway, how could I expect to balance a possible girlfriend with my already busy schedule with the band, let alone pay for anything along the way.
"Look. Ry, I'm sorry about earl-"
"I know." he interrupted, his tone slightly softer than earlier, but not much, "I'm sorry too," he added, although he still hadn't looked up at me.
I sighed quietly, a weight lifted off my shoulders. I'd hoped it would take more than that to come between us.
My stomach growled and I frowned, glancing around our hotel room. There had to be something I could sell or maybe pawn in here to get a few bucks for food. My eyes landed on a small box on the table. It had a few watches I bought years ago inside. I could definitely get at least 50 bucks for them at a pawn shop in town. I checked the time, it was too late to go now, it would have to wait for tomorrow, we've gone longer without eating before, we could go one more night. Until then I needed to work on my song.
