 Part III

Akushima hadn't slept in days. His anxiety about Amrith was through the roof. He had dark, black bags under his eyes and looked like he hadn't eaten as well. What made it worse was that no one could find her. It was like trying to find a needle in a haystack. SWAT, secret police task forces from both of their families, and Tokyo police had been searching for her day and night. The only lead they had was the direction the kidnapper went off in however, it had been too long to go off the direction.

Kennya stormed into the department and immediately spotted Akushima. She walked up to him and grabbed him by the collar. "Yuuki! Where the hell is Amrith! I left her alone for one day and she-" She stopped herself and dropped his collar before she continued. Her eyes were red and her nose was slightly covered in makeup to hide the red. "You know that she is the only family I'm attached to. Here are some of my police unit and some detectives. Find her. Please Akushima."

"Kennya, you know I will. That's all I want right now, more than anything in the world. I promise that I will bring her home safe to everyone." Akushima turned towards the security cameras then got an idea. "Sora, check the cameras around my house and in the area around three-thirty am. We might get a general idea of where she was taken." The person nodded and pulled up the camera footage from that night. It showed the back of the person and the direction they jumped from. He switched the cameras over a few times and tracked them until they reached a forest with heavy underbrush.

"That's as far as I can track them. The forest is too thick and there are no cameras. I suggest you should start looking in that forest." Before Sora finished what he was saying to Akushima, he had already run out the door with his jacket and to his car. Kennya was quickly on his heels and jumped into her car.

. . . . .

11:26 AM

They both reached the edge of the forest where the camera was pointing. Akushima didn't even turn off his car, he just ran into the forest. Kennya came from behind and turned off his car and grabbed his keys. "Hey, lovebird! Don't be stupid and act without thinking." Akushima stopped in his tracks and looked over his shoulder at Kennya.

"I'm sorry but a car is the last thing on my mind. Ammy could be out there freezing cold because she's in shorts and a t-shirt or even worse! I don't want to think that any of that will happen. That she's back at home safe near a fire waiting for us to come back." His eyes began to tear up but he wiped his eyes dry and began to run again. Kennya shoved the keys in her pocket and chased after him. However, the deeper into the forest they got, the thicker the bush and bramble had gotten. Roots and low branches blocked their path.

After an hour of running, they had only made it less than a half of a mile into the forest. They had seen nothing but white and brown and no sign of Amrith anywhere. They had stopped to catch their breath for a brief moment but it wasn't long before Akushima punched the closest tree to him. The wood could be heard cracking from the ice. "Dammit! It's been an hour and we still can't find her! Where the hell is she!" Kennya sighed then grabbed a handful of snow and shoved it in his face. Akushima just froze and stared at her. "Why did you do that?"

"Because you're acting like a four-year-old who lost their toy train. Yes, Amrith is missing but screaming and punching trees isn't going to help the situation at all. Sometimes you are going to have to start using your brain like the young adult that you are." Kennya dusted off the leftover snow that was on her hand while Akushima fell into the snow.

"You're right Ken. I really am childish. Thank you for the snow to the face."

"It's fine as long as you learn from your actions. Start by taking your car keys and getting some rest. If you continue like this then you will be in no state to help Amrith out. I'll call Sora and Nik and we will continue searching for a bit longer until we have to get back to work. We all have companies that we need to take care of too. But don't worry, we will find her."

"I'll take your word for it, Ken." Akushima waved goodbye and headed back to his car. The walk back wasn't too difficult since he already cleared the way earlier. Once he got back to his car, he sat there and leaned his forehead against the steering wheel while he looked at the passenger seat. He imagined Amrith sitting there laughing while singing to her favorite song with a container of pringles in her hand. He imagined her asleep with the chair laid back all the way with the air conditioner blasting but with his jacket over her as she slept. "Please be safe and make more memories with me Ammy." He said to himself before he drove off. He began to head back to his place but decided that he would drive around a bit. There wasn't much he could do but he had too much on his mind. Eventually, he made it back to his place and fell on top of his bed face first. As soon as his head hit the pillow he fell into a deep sleep.

***Authors Note***

I'll be honest I only worked on this for five days instead of six. so this chapter is kinda shitty. But I decided that Aku needed some action as well. If you have any recommendations for future references then that would be heavily appreciated! I wish you all a merry night or day!
