The capital was filled with people. It was a bit strange for Tanya not to be carrying her rifle or be dressed in her uniform, though she did have her service weapon, it was still weird. At the moment she was wearing a long sleeve formal blouse and a pair of black pants along with a vest of the same color. On her collar, she had a purple ribbon that Meiyo had put on her. Her lover was wearing a lilac dress that reached her knees and boots that were similar to the blonde's. A pair of girls walking around hand-in-hand wasn't strange in the empire. Suddenly, Meiyo lifted her hand and waved towards somebody. Tanya looked at the individuals, who seemed to be adventurers. One was wearing dark blue armor with golden details, and a red cape. With him, an Asian woman with a cold look on her face. She wore something similar to Tanya without the vest and a brown cloak.

"Dad! Nabe!"

Tanya felt herself shiver. Dad. This was Meiyo's father. She was starting to panic. She had fucked the daughter of the sorcerer-king. This was said man undercover. The blonde was going to die.

"Your m-Cara..." it seemed Nabe had stopped herself mid-sentence. If looks could kill Tanya would be on the floor thanks to this woman.

"Cara," said the one in the armor "Is this who you told me about?"

Meiyo nodded.

"A pleasure," said Tanya instinctively.

"The pleasure is mine" answered Meiyo's father. "You may call me Momon, I'm called Momon the dark"

"My dad and Nabe are Mithril!"

That was one of the highest adventurer levels. The honor was similar to that of a war veteran.

"That's surprising, then, you are professional adventurers? It's an honor to meet you. I am only a major" said Tanya bashfully and faking humility.

"The honor is ours," said Nabe surprising the blonde.

"Take care of yourselves," said Momon, Tanya could almost hear a smile in his voice. "We will talk another time"

Both left, the blonde felt all the tension leave her body. Good, she survived.

"They already are aware of who you are," said Meiyo gripping Tanya's hand a bit tight to reassure her. "There is something I must talk to you about...do you know of any good places to eat around here?

"Oh, yes I do" Tanya guided them to a delicious coffee shop. It had been Visha who first introduced her to it. Both took a seat making their orders.

"Do you remember when I got hurt?" asked Meiyo taking the blonde's hand once again.

"Yes" answered Tanya worriedly.

"There is a reason for that" The raven-haired girl stared at the table uncomfortably, Tanya was confused when she saw her like that "You are the other side of my red string. My literal soulmate. The instant we met in person, the connection completed itself.

"What are you trying to say?" inquired Tanya.

"You are not as immortal as me. Whatever happens to you, I will feel. Whatever harm comes to you will happen to me and you will be unscathed." answered Meiyo, now with both the girl's hands in hers.

Tanya froze. That time she was supposed to die, when her arm would have broken, when she was supposed to be cut in half... those wounds Meiyo had gotten them instead of her. That was why Schnee told her to be careful, this was why Nazarick attacked, that was why they had panicked and why there was a squad from there. Because any harm Tanya suffered, she wouldn't receive, it would be the raven-haired girl who would take it in her place. And yes, though Meiyo couldn't die, the facts didn't change.

"Why didn't you tell me?!" she raised her voice a bit due to her concern and worry.

"Would you believe me? C'mon Tanya, if I would've told you, you would think I was a crazy obsessive stalker. You only believe in what you can see and prove, which is respectable" answered Meiyo laughing and winking.

Touché.

"You're right" sighed Tanya. "But things are different now. You need to tell me. If not, we could endanger each other"

"Yea..."

"At last I found you" a soft monotone voice interrupted their conversation. Both girls turned towards the source. She looked like a pre-teen with light blue hair, her outfit was a white and pink dress that mixed Lolita with military outfits. She had a pair of wings on her back. A Faunus?

"And you are?" Tanya hated being interrupted no matter the situation.

"Fitoria. Though now I am known as Fitoria Regina.

"The first filolial queen" explained Meiyo. "I never thought I would meet you"

So, this was one of those giant birds, like the little blonde girl that accompanied the shield hero, Filo, if she remembered correctly.

"I see..."

"I wish to join you," said Fitoria. To the point, just like Tanya liked it. "Under command of Viktoriya Ivanova Serebryakov..."

"I do not see why you must ask me"

"It is not a question. It is a notification. The superiors have accepted under the condition that my people help taking things from one place to another. I also came to bring important information and let you know of a mission I will give you as part of my agreement with the superiors.

"I do not believe it is a good idea to keep talking about this here" interrupted Meiyo.

"I understand. We shall talk about this further at camp. Good day"

They watched her leave, Tanya had no idea how much more she could tolerate. At least she got to have some free time with her lover eating cake and drinking coffee. These were the most stressful vacations she had ever had.

Tanya sighed as she let her hair down, the sun had already set. First, she finds out she is the daughter of the emperor. Then that the military wishes to rebel because her father has gone overboard. She meets the sorcerer-king under the pseudonym Momon and almost dies because of her internal turmoil. Meeting your in law after fucking his daughter is everyone's fear. They go and have a date, she finds out it's her fault Meiyo had gotten hurt in that mission. And to finish it all, the filolial queen came to let her know she was going be part of them. At least being X didn't come to ruin it. Yet, that didn't alleviate the tension. Once dressed in her nightclothes, she threw herself on the bed and glanced at the nutcracker that mysteriously always appeared in her room.
