Chapter 2

Hinata POV

The club gathered around as Daichi explained what we were going to be practicing and he said me and Kageyama should practice our quick attack. I was super exited so right after he finished I jumped up and ran over to the net. Nishinoya wanted to work on his receiving and Tsukki decided to practice blocking so everyone agreed to just have a team practice match. 

Kageyama POV 

Daichi told us we could just play a team practice match so everyone could practice their moves. I was excited to practice but definitely not as excited as dumbass was. He was hopping around the court like he was on cloud nine or something. I let out a 'tch' sound. "Oi. Dumbass.Get your butt over here so we can actually start the practice game."

"Awwww...But I'm just excited" the tiny orange whined.

I sighed and walked to one side of the net.

Time Skip 

I set the ball up and Hinata hit it as hard as he could. He cheered saying things like, 'did you see that?!' or 'that was so cool!!' Unfortunately the score was 20-18 and we were losing. I sighed. 

Daichi served the ball. Yamaguchi received it a little sloppily but I didn't say anything. He was getting a lot better. The ball came right to me. Way better. I smiled and set the ball. I was surprised and worried when Hinata came a second too late. 

He's going to miss it!!

But there was nothing I could do but watch now. He leaped for the ball and-

It hit his head. My eyes widened as the ginger was thrown slightly by the force of it. He fell to the gym floor. Everyone immediately ran to Hinata, surrounding to see if he was okay. I was the first to get to him when I saw something I'd never seen. I'm certain my eyes were so big you could've mistaken them for golf balls (bad analogy Ik) when everyone else reached him the room fell silent until panic broke out.

Hinata POV

The room was completely silent as everyone looked at me like I was a ghost or something. I rubbed my head. The blow from the volleyball hurt a bit but it didn't explain why everyone was staring at me like that. But then I noticed when I pulled me hand away from my head. 

My hand was covered in blood. My eyes widened as I saw more drip from my forehead. I had a little secret that was probably becoming apparent to everyone on the team now; I was terrified of blood. When I saw myself bleeding tears began to fall from my eyes as I felt myself going into a panic attack. I started rocking back and forth whimpering. 

Until I felt someone calmly sit down next to me and noticed they had shooed the rest off. They wrapped their jacket around me and started making calming circles on my back. I felt my breathing calm down. I kept myself curled up though. I was certain that Suga-senpai was there until I heard Kageyama talk to me.

"It's okay. We'll get you cleaned up and then take you to the nurses office."he said in an unusually soothing voice.

I could feel my face start heating up. Dammit since when was this guy so nice???

Kageyama POV

One side of Hinatas face was covered with blood. I panicked and asked if the others could call a nurse and give him space. Everyone looked at me with uncertainty until finally giving in. Tsukki mumbled something about a king saving his queen and I gritted my teeth but didn't approach him, turning to the problem I had to fix. This was my fault after all.

I slowly sat down next to Hinata as to not startle him. I pulled my jacket off, draping it over his back. I waited a few seconds for his breathing to calm a bit and then started to make circles on his back. I told Hinata it would be okay and noticed his ears turn red. He was probably embarrassed about having a panic attack. 

After a while of sitting and letting Hinata catch his breath, I picked him up bridal style to tease him a little. Hinatas face flushed red as he struggled to remove himself from my grip I chuckled and put him down.

"Bakayama" He muttered, flustered and I laughed again. I think the rest of the team noticed because they all turned toward us and gave us questioning looks while Hinata scolded me. A rare sight indeed.
