Chapter 7

Kageyama POV 

It's been a few weeks since Hinata was discharged from the hospital. I've been trying to figure out what the doctor told him but all I've seen is that this human tangerine is somehow even more hyped up than ever. I can't ask Sugawara-senpai or Daichi-senpai because they've been keeping quiet and saying no to everyone who asks. Plus, the salt shaker would tease me for being worried about him and I don't have enough energy to deal with that right now. 

I aggressively drink my milk as I sit next to the vending machines.

"U-uh....Kageyama? Are you ok??"

I stop when I hear a very familiar red head speak. I turn my head.

"Yeah. 'm fine." I mutter.

I notice Hinata nervously looking me up and down.

"Really...? Cause it really doesn't look like you are...."

"Waddaya mean boke."

"You look like your contemplating every horrible life decision that's led you to this point." He says, beginning to look me up and down again. You could hear the amusement in his voice as he subtly mocked me.

I sighed. "That chopstick is rubbing off on you."

Hinata looked at me questioningly. "If we're being so honest, you're kinda right...y'know, about contemplating my worst life choices." He froze. I don't think he was expecting me to say that.

"I've been wondering lately-"I turned my head towards him and made eye contact.

Hinata POV 

Kageyama turned towards me and made eye contact.

Shit. I'm gonna die. No doubt about it. Today's the day.

I gulped. "W-what have you been w-wondering about...?"I stuttered, straining myself to keep eye contact.

"What...."

Hereitcomes!Hereitcomes....

"What did you talk to Suga and Daichi-senpai about?"

"H-huh?"

Oh no. Worst possible thing to ask.

"W-well...uh-"

I looked around nervously. We still had a bit of time before lunch ended so I grabbed Kageyama's wrist and bolted to the back of the school.

"Oi!!Oi!!OOOOIIIIIIII!!!!" He screamed as we turned corners and dogged out of people's way.

We reached the back of the school and stopped abruptly.

"What the hell was that-"

He turned to look at me. 

"-for...."

Silence. It wasn't uncomfortable. It was actually a little pleasant. I sat in it for a few seconds until Kageyama started talking again.

"Why are you crying?! Are you ok?! I didn't hurt you at all did I??" He began panicking.

"H-huh?"

I touched my face lightly and felt tears stream down my face. When did I start crying...?

Oh-right. I had to tell him now.

"W-well. That day...when I woke up and the doctor told you to leave the room..."

He stood in silence, letting me finish.

"Do you remember him holding papers?" I asked, giving him a second to recall it. 

"Yeah...I think I remember...what about it?" Kageyama said finally.

Kageyama POV 

I waited silently for Hinata to explain what the meaning of his question was. I was beginning to get worried. If he had told our senpais something bad enough to make him cry, then why wouldn't he let them tell the rest of the team?

Tears dripped from Hinatas eyes,"After this week, we may never see each other again."

Wait. What.

Hellooo!! I'm super duper sorry I haven't updated in WEEKS. I've been struggling a bit with school, family shit, and trying to get over the saddest parts in all of the seven anime's I'm watching at once.😅

Also...thank you so much for over 100 reads!!! I know it's not really a lot but still. I was only expecting like 50 so thank you all so much!!

I think this'll only be a couple more chapters. And ⚠️Spoiler(not really tho)⚠️ This story is actually gonna have a good ending. Believe it or not. So yes, you may cry just a little...but you are definitely gonna smile at the end!! You should be lucky I'm giving mercy on your poor weeb souls. Jk jk.

Last thing-I'm probably gonna just gonna mark my cover shop as complete because I have absolutely no more ideas and have become brain dead on ship ideas.
