Vivian's POV

I was heading to this small café that Rosie texted me to go to. I haven't seen her in a while, probably back since before Ice Cream dropped, just a little after How You Like That.

I was really excited to see her. I kept walking for a few minutes before I stopped right outside the door. I readjusted my mask and headed inside. She told me to head to table 11 at the back.

"Hi, I'm here for table 11." I walked towards the hostess.

"Name?" She looked through the book.

"Vivian?" I questioned. Either that or Rosie put it under her name.

"Ok, it's just back there, before the navy blue screen." She smiled and handed me a menu.

"Thank you." I smiled through my mask and made my way to the back.

Right as I walked in, I saw someone that was sitting there. And it wasn't Rosie.

"Vivian?" She questioned.

"Hi Jennie." I said emotionlessly.

"Rosie send you here?" She readjusted in her seat.

"Yeah. I'm guessing you too?" I sat down across from her.

"Yeah." She awkwardly scratched her neck.

We sat in silence for a minute or two. I just wanted to get out of here. We didn't have the best relationship.

First, we used to be friends. But about when Peek-A-Boo came out, she just stopped talking to me. I never knew why. Blackpink were growing in popularity, so I understand if she was busy or something, but she stayed friends with Juhyun. Then throughout 2018, she just ignored my existence completely. I accepted it as is and just accepted that we weren't friends anymore. Then I find out later on that she was dating my now husband. I wasn't mad that they were together, I was mad that no one told me until Dispatch reported it on New Years.

Imagine finding out your best friend/soulmate was dating an old friend who just stopped talking to you a whole year prior... threw Dispatch. No one told me. I was mad at everyone, not just them. I didn't talk to anyone but people I knew didn't know for a week and a half. Call me bitter, but I was upset.

It's been 2 years, but I never tried to talk to Jennie at all. Jongin and I got on better terms, I mean obviously. I just left our friendship in shatters. I have other friends.

"So, now what?" She piped up randomly.

"I don't know. I heard the food here is good, so I don't know about you but I'm gonna eat something." I flipped through the menu. It was a western style café with Korean aesthetics.

"Ok." She just sat and stared at the menu. She looked uncomfortable, I don't know why. I'm not an intimidating person, why is she acting like this?

I just fiddled with my wedding band, waiting for a waiter to come along. Nervous habit. I always fiddle with any rings I wear, I always have at least 1 ring on at all times. First it was my friendship ring my longtime friend Beth gave me, then my couple ring Jongin gave me, then my engagement ring, and now my wedding ring.

She must've noticed my ring, because she started staring at my hand.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

"Yeah. I never congratulated you on the wedding. And everything else too." She smiled, but I could tell it wasn't genuine. Something was there, either envy or pain.

"Thanks." I awkwardly responded. I don't like receiving congratulatory remarks over marrying someone. There's no need, I didn't win the Olympics.

"And congrats on the baby too." Jennie turned her attention back to the menu.

I could tell she was uncomfortable talking to her ex-boyfriend's wife, about getting married and having a kid. Can you blame her?

"Thanks." I simply answered. I hated this.

I really want to leave. This is awkward, and I'm uncomfortable.

"I'm sorry." I blurted out.

"Huh? Why? For what?" She looked up from the menu.

"Everything. If I did something to make you hate me, back in 2017, then I'm sorry. I don't know what I did, but it must have been enough for you to ignore me for a year."

She sat there in silence.

"I said a few mean things back in 2019, but that's because I was upset. I was upset that you cut me off for no reason, and then I found out through the press that you're dating my ex-boyfriend. Of course I would be mad. No one told me for the two months you guys weren't public, but apparently everyone else knew."

Again, just silence.

"The split deeply hurt him. I hated seeing him like that. He didn't smile for 2 weeks. That pained me. I thought I was over him but I wasn't. I only wanted for him to be happy, and he wasn't. I was mad. I acted childish. I wanted to hurt you the way you hurt me. I'm sorry. And I deeply apologize sincerely from the bottom of my heart."

Jennie just looked at me. Not saying anything, not moving. The only movement was her blinking and breaking.

I pushed my glasses up higher on my nose and stood up to leave. I grabbed my bag, but as I did, Jennie's hand grabbed onto mine.

"I should say I'm sorry, Vivian. I stopped being around you because I became insecure around you. You're beautiful, talented, and successful." She said, still looking down.

"You are too. You know that. You were too earlier in your career to see that. Don't compare yourself to anyone." I pulled my hand away and picked up my bag.

"I didn't think that dating Jongin would hurt you. But it did. I never meant to hurt you. But I did." She looked up.

"What's done it done. The past is past. We can't change it now." I smiled staying calm.

"Friends?" She said hopefully.

"We'll see. I forgive, but I don't forget. I'll try if you do."

"Of course." She smiled brightly.

We sat back down and ate, we later walked out of that café arm in arm. Hopefully history doesn't repeat itself.
