Jongin's POV

My eyes hurt. It hurts so much. I've been crying since I found out. As if she knew, Aera has been crying even harder today. I've been working hard to take care of her, I even called my mom over to help. I can't do this alone.

Everywhere I look around the house I see her. The pictures of her smile, our wedding, and the day Aera was born. All I see is her smile. Her shoes are still messily kicked around at the front door, her favourite blanket is still neatly hung off the back of the couch, and her car keys thrown on the kitchen counter.

I can't look at anything, I can barely even look at my own daughter. I just see her. The house still smells like her. I can't cope. I broke down.

"Jongin?" My mom walked into the living room, where I was standing just staring at our wedding photo.

"Sweetie, it's okay..." She tried to reach for me and hug me.

"No it's not! She was the love of my life! The mother of my child! She meant everything to me! We didn't even get to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary! And now Aera has to grow up without her mom! She's dead!" I yell, not caring if I wake up my daughter. "We wanted to continue living our lives together! We wanted to have more children! I just want her back!"

Aera starts crying. I throw a pillow at the wall hard, and I knock a picture of Vivian off the wall. My mom sighs and rushes back to Aera's room. I lay down on the couch and cry until everything goes black.

I wake to the sound of knocking at the door. I check the time, 11:38PM.

Who the hell is at my door at this hour?

I open the door to see 3 police officers.

"Kim Jongin?" One asks.

"Yes?" I rub my visibly red eyes.

"May we come in?"

"Yes, of course." I move to let them in.

They all walk into the living room and I follow them.

"Well sir, we have some good news. We have caught the man who attacked your wife, and now she's in the hospital scheduled for surgery." Another one speaks.

"Thank yo-- wait what?" I look up, eyes widen.

"You're wife was pronounced dead when the paramedics found her, but were able to revive her in the ambulance. You were not answering your phone so we came out now, after we caught the perpetrator." The first one informs me.

"So Vivian...?"

"Is alive. But in a coma, but they hope she wakes up soon. They said there will be a 97% chance of brain damage, but they will not know until she wakes up." The third officer spoke.

"Oh my god..." I collapse on the floor, as tears stroll down my face. "Is that even scientifically possible?"

"I don't know... why don't you wake up Jongin?" The voice fades out of a man's and changes to Vivian's.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Jongin? Jongin, wake up!" Her voice kept yelling.
I opened my eyes and sat up in bed quickly. I look over to my left and see Vivian sitting next to me, looking concerned.
"You were crying. Are you okay?" She wrapped her arms around me, in a comforting hug.
"I thought you died." I said stunned.
"No, I'm fine. You just had a bad dream." She whispered comfortingly.
"But I saw a news article confirming it."
"It was just a dream." She pulled away as we heard Aera crying. "I'll get her."
I watch as she walks out of our room and get Aera. She walks back into our room, carrying her. She sits back down beside me and hands Aera to me.
"Remember this Jongin." She starts.
"Hmm?" I look up at her.
"I'm not going anywhere, anytime soon." She kissed my cheek and snuggled next to me as we watch Aera  play with Vivian's hair.
