Eva (POV)-

"Hey, babe!"

"Oh, hey Conner." I replied, ignoring the hand that slid over my waist and rested on my hip. I opened my locker and turned to face the small mirror on the door, fixing my makeup.

"What class do you have next?"

"Um, Science." I grabbed my science textbook out of my locker and shut it, turning in Connor's grip to look up at him. He pecked my lips, and I smiled into the kiss, placing a hand on his shoulder.

"As much as I would like to stay here... I really have to get to science." I told him, looking into his green eyes and fiddling with his gold necklace.

"Ok, babe. Text me later?" I nodded and kissed him, before slipping under his arm and walking down the hallway, overlooking his loving gaze on my back.

On the way there, I yanked Madi from her make-out session with her boyfriend Christopher. She groaned but overall obeyed, catching the backpack Chris tossed her.

"Science, remember? Save that for lunch."

"Ugh, fine. But science is boring." I rolled my eyes at her and pulled her into a classroom, aware of the looks the guys who were already there gave us.

"She has a boyfriend." Madi scolded them as we walked past their desks, leaving them pink and awkward.

"God, Madi."

"What? You have a boyf-"

"Madi Monroe! This is the sixth time this week I have caught you whispering in the back of the classroom. Do you have something you need to share with the rest of us?" The teacher stared down Madi, but she just flipped her hair and stalked to the front of the classroom, turning to face the class.

"Actually, I do." The teacher scoffed but signaled for her to continue.

"Okay. Just wanted to say that Eva. Is. Taken. Right?" She looked at me, but I just looked down, my cheeks as red as a tomato. Damn you, Madi.

"Darn!" The sound came from the door. I swiveled in my seat to face the intruder. She was in the entrance, leaning against the doorframe with her backpack held in one hand.

"I could've sworn she was single!" She teased. She wore a dark black baseball cap low over her, so you could only see the bottom half of her face. I know her. The girl was always late to class, and nobody has ever seen her entire face before. She never took her cap off, and was extremely confident with herself, calling out the teacher multiple times. She was also insanely smart, though, something I would consider unfair, cause of her not using a minute of school time to work.

"Anna! How nice of you to join us! Please sit over-" Anna plopped down in a seat in the back, placing her air force ones on the desk and resting her head in her hands. She completely ignored Mr. Allen pointing at the desk next to me, and he dropped his hand almost immediately.

"there." The teacher finished. Anna took out her phone and put in earbuds, blocking out the rest of what Mr. Allen was saying. She did this every day, yet nobody ever knew what she was listening to. Anna usually kept an earbud out, but today she placed them both in. Odd.

"Hey, babe." I slid next to Connor, clashing his tray with mine. He smiled and pecked my forehead.

"Hey! How was science?" As I told him about class and Madi's rowdy actions, a hubbub pulled my attention towards the corner of the cafeteria where a crowd of people overlooked some sort of fight. I was suddenly pulled off my seat and dragged over to the chaos by none other than Cynthia Parker.
