Coffeeshop AU

"Why couldn't we just go to the cafe I normally go to??" Leorio loudly questions the blonde haired-man who sits across from him, "Do you have something against it??"

Kurapika simply crosses his arms and scoffs, "Not at all. I just thought a change of scenery may be nice for you."

"What if their drinks aren't as good?" Leorio complains, taking a long sip out of the coffee cup sitting in front of him on the table. He sets it back down, a smile involuntarily forming on his lips, "Okay, I guess their coffee is really good. But what about their tea??"

Kurapika lets out a long sigh, an annoyed look present on his face, "Quit being melodramatic and enjoy your coffee. I am certain you'll like their tea just as well."

"We'll see," Leorio lifts up his menu again, scouring the dessert section, "Maybe I should buy a pastry too."

"I assumed this cafe would be a nice change of pace for you, considering how you have been studying almost constantly," Kurapika explains to his friend, his eyes scanning the different decorations and fairy lights littering the walls, "I find this place to be very relaxing."

Leorio takes another sip out of his coffee mug, setting the nearly empty cup back down on the table, "Jeez, you really like this place, don't you?" He sets the menu back down, "What's so special about-"

"Would you like a refill, sir?" 

He looks up, taking notice of the person standing beside him with a pot of coffee in their hands. Suddenly, he understands why this cafe is so special and finds himself utterly speechless. You're practically beaming at him, your eyes seemingly sparkling. The fluorescent lighting above you somehow makes it seem as if you're glowing.

"Sir?" Your honeyed voice calls out to him, drawing him out of his thoughts, "Are you alright?"

He nods, fervently, his cheeks already flushed red, "Yes!! I'm great!! A refill would be perfect, thank you-" His eyes fall on your nametag, "(Y/N). That's a really pretty name!!"

You let out a quiet giggle at this, a large smile on your face, "Thank you so much,"  You begin filling his mug to the brim with coffee, "Is there anything else you two need?"

"No, I believe that was all, thank you for-" Kurapika starts, but Leorio quickly cuts him off.

"Actually, I was going to order a dessert!" He glances down at the menu before his gaze falls back on you, "What would you recommend?"

You put your finger against your lip in thought for several seconds before saying, "Oh, I think our most popular dessert is our tiramisu." 

"But which dessert do you like the most?" Leorio asks you, clearly interested in learning more about you.

"I like our lemon meringue pie a lot," You explain to him with a smile still plastered onto your face, "It's really good. Would you like to try it?"

"I'd love to! I'm sure that you have great taste!" Leorio exclaims, earning a side glance from Kurapika.

You nod to this, "I'll bring a slice right out for you, sir!" You bow to him slightly before walking away, Leorio's loving gaze still on you.

Kurapika snaps his fingers in Leorio's face, distracting him from daydreaming about you, "What was that about?"

"What do you mean?" He glances back over at you before his gaze falls back on his close friend, "I was just being nice."

Kurapika hums in thought at this, pointing out to him, "No, you were flirting with her. Why not just ask her out on a date?"
