Monroe's POV

We parked the bug next to a white van where we met Wanda, Sam, and the new recruit. Steve thanked them both for having his back as they both reassured their roles in this war.

"How about our other recruit?" Curiosity ate at me. Same turned around and slid the doors of the van open. An ordinary-looking man sat up from his resting position. I chuckled at the flinch he gave when the door slammed. Steve and I shared a look, waiting for the disoriented man to greet us.

"What time zone is this?" Sam gestured to us without answering his question. The man's facial expression switched from confusion to admiration. Walking up to Steve, he took a hold of his hand and began shaking aggressively. "Captain America!"

"Mr. Lang," Steve responded. Sam had informed us of his name beforehand.

"It's an honor." Scott looked down at their hands still in movement. "I'm shaking your hand too long." Scott let's go and switches his gaze to me. "Wow, this is awesome! Captain America. I know you too, you're great."

I lifted my eyebrows and smirked at the comment. He almost reminds me of Phil. The enthusiasm saved for the captain while we get leftovers. I savored the memory as Lang gripped at Steve's broad shoulders and scanned his toned figure. I get a glance from Rogers with a smirk of his own.

"Look, I wanna say, I know you know a lot of super people, so... thinks for thanking of me," Scott fumbled over his words.

"They tell you what we're up against?" I directed the dialogue back to the significance of our presence.

"Something about some psycho-assassins?"

"We're outside the law on this one. So if you come with us, you're a wanted man," Cap declares.

"Yeah, well, what else is new?"

"We should get moving," Barnes interrupts.

"We got a chopper lined up," I pointed out. Just as I did, a small siren began to wail as some german man spoke through the PA of the airport.

"They're evacuating the airport," Barnes translated.

"Stark," Sam stated. It was no surprise he had caught up with us.

"Stark," Scott grew confused.

"Suit up," the captain ordered.

Wanda and I made it into position, just as planned. We watched Steve run out for the helicopter but was stopped when a device was thrown onto it, destabilizing it. To no surprise, there they were. Stark and Rhodey, like two peas in a pod. I listened in, taking advantage of enhanced hearing.

"Wow, it's so weird how you run into people at the airport. Don't you think that's weird?" Tony unmasks himself.

"Definitely weird," Rhodey encourages. I rolled my eyes at their wit.

"Hear me out, Tony. That doctor, the psychiatrist, he's behind all of this." King T'challa hopped in from a hidden area with his black panther suit. They greet each other as Tony stirs back into their code of conduct.

"Anyway, Ross gave me 36 hours to bring you in. That was 24 hours ago, can you help a brother out?"

"You're after the wrong guy."

"Your judgment is askew. Your old war buddy killed innocent people yesterday."

"And there are five more super soldiers just like him. I can't let the doctor find them first, Tony, I can't."

"Steve," Nat's voice chimed in. "You know what's about to happen. Do you really want to punch your way out of this one?"

Silence took over while I waited for Sam to find our way out.

"Alright, I've run out of patience. Underoos!" Tony shouts. Some sticky substance suddenly grabbed ahold of Cap's shield and was pulled to a smaller figure. Steve's hands were trapped, so I prepared my energy. Unlike Wanda's, mine can shoot out in an electrical form. Sparks were triggered around my fingers, waiting for my cue.

"You've been busy," Steve remarks.

"And you've been a complete idiot. Dragging in Jess, rescuing Wanda from a place she doesn't even want to leave. A safe place. I'm trying to keep- ... I'm trying to keep you from tearing the Avengers apart."

My eyes water, but I never let a tear escape. He did that when he signed the accords. As if Rogers read my mind, he retorted back with those exact words. I could feel the pain Tony was in, but this can't be our only option. There has to be another way we can sort this all out.

"Alright, we're done. You're gonna turn Barnes over, you're gonna come with us. Now. Because it's us. We're squatted J sock guys with no compunction about being impolite." My lips parted as I took in a breath, watching the scene play out from where I was planted. "Come on..."

"We found it. The quinjet's in hanger 5, north runway," Sam finally spoke through the earpiece. Cap lifted his tied hands in the air, giving me the signal. I pushed out both hands, letting that energy strike directly at the substance. Once the bolt hit, the substance was disintegrated. Tony's mask was back on, turning in my direction to find where my attack had come from. That's when Lang suddenly grew in size from his tiny ant self. The spiderling kid was kicked back, losing grasp of the shield. Wanda and I began running out from the parking deck, catching up with everyone else. We made it out in plain sight, only to be shot at with Stark's tiny missile. Every vehicle and object surrounding us exploded. I pulled Wanda in to duck until the destruction settled.

"Wanda, I think you hurt Vision's feelings," Stark spoke out, hovering over us.

"You locked me in my room."

"Okay, first, that's an exaggeration. Second, I did it to protect you." He then directed over to me, "Hey, Jess."

"Tony."

"Clearly, it didn't take much convincing for you to come out and kick my ass."

"I can't say I'd miss the opportunity. I never miss," I threatened. I shot out a hand once more, throwing a small beam of energy toward him. It flew by the tin man, barely missing him.

"Well, first time for everything."

"Made you look," I smiled as cars began plummeting down from the garage deck behind him. Wanda took the pleasure of forcing them down herself, never actually aiming for Tony. It was a scare tactic, a trap. Once he'd been caught in between a few cars, we ran to reunite with the captain. "There's our ride," I turned our attention to the quinjet. The captain yelled out for Barnes and Sam to catch up as Scott found his way. Once we were exposed to open concrete, a beam shot from above. The heat drew a line across the floor, preventing us to move forward. We looked up to see Vision had come to side with Stark, expectedly so.

"Captain Rogers," He began. "I know you believe what you're doing is right..." Stark and Nat made their way directly across from us. "...you must surrender now."  Rhodey and the king, Vision and the kid joined them shortly after. We were standing in a position of war, as if on a battlefield.

"What do we do, Cap?"

"We fight."
