Mila starts opening her eyes and hears a beeping once she starts seeing more she realizes that it's a machine that it's monitoring her heartbeat. She sees someone sitting on a chair and realizes that it's her sister. She starts waking up and realizes that Mila had just woken up.
"Mila you woke up! Let me go get the doctor, don't move!" Callie says so surprisedly and happy that her little sister has woken up. The doctor comes in and starts asking Mila questions.
"Do you remember your name?" the doctor asks her.
"Yes, Mila Jones" she answers.
"Do you remember what happened?" the doctor asks her hoping she remembers.
"Wasn't it some kind of explosion in a laboratory?" she responds a bit confused trying to remember the events.
"Good, can I talk to you Ms.Jones outside privately?" the doctor asks Callie and she starts looking a little concerned.
Callie and the doctor go outside of the room and Mila can just see on the window how her sister looks concerned and worried. The doctor leaves and Callie just stands there worried and looks at Mila and decides to go back inside.
After a while, Callie and Mila don't talk for minutes until Mila decides to break the silence.
"What did the doctor say to you? Where's dad?" she starts asking questions to Callie.
Callie looks at Mila knowing that sooner or later she would find out.
"Look Mila, when the explosion dad tried to save you but he..." she says trying to finish but feels a lump in her throat trying to hold in her tears.
"He what, Callie What happened to dad?" she starts getting serious with Callie eager to know what happened.
"He tried saving you when the lab exploited he took you out but he went back in to save more colleagues but there was a second explosion and he and other colleagues didn't make" Callie starters breaking down she starts crying and her eyes start turning red
Mila took her a while to take it in until tears started coming down from her eyes and started having a breakdown. Callie goes to Mila's bed and sits next to her and hugs trying to calm her down. After Mila calmed down, Callie tells her sister that dad's funeral will be in 4 days.
Mila fell asleep and Callie started thinking and feeling guilty about something she should've told her sister but she had to find the perfect time to tell her. In the meanwhile, Callie is Mila's legal guardian and will only be the 2 of them and Callie will have to find a job.
