"In front of the house is the gate and around it is the forest, first we need to figure out where we're going to escape from, either the gate or the forest." Said Norman as he drew an example of it in the sand, "Maybe...The forest-? Because the gate is closed unless there's a child who's getting shipped out, and even if it opens...." "The demons are there." Norman finishes Emma off on her words.
"But if we were to escape from the forest, when will would we do it? Either we do it when its play time and we're allowed to go to the forest freely or at the night of the shipment where mom's not in the house-" "No! We can't go at night where the shipment is set! Someone will definitely be sacrificed!" Said Emma, "Yeah...And I'm worried if the little kids can stay up at night...It's set then, We'll go out though the woods and outside during the day. And whether its possible or not..." "depends on what lies outside." Said Emma, finishing his sentence.
They both went over the small fence and ran towards what was 'outside'. Revealing a big wall. A frown of disappointment appeared on Emma's face. "Huh?...Norman!? What are you doing?!" She asked in disbelief as she saw him trying to climb a tree. "Norman! Are you okay?!" Emma ran to his side as he fell.
"Sorry, guess I overworked my brain a little too much!" He said Jokingly. Emma chuckled at this, "Fine! I guess it can't be helped!" She said climbing the tree with ease, "See something?" Norman asked, "No...Not really anything. This wall is about 1-2 meters wide and overall just huge." said Emma.
"But there isn't any guards around it and....It's quite." Said Norman as he tilted his ear to the wall to see if there was any sound from it, "What do you think...Emma?" He asked.
"Hard and strong...The surface is smooth...But! If it's me and Norman then we can climb it with one rope!" She smiled facing him, "And there's no presence of any demons, and mom's the only guard. Don't worry! we can do it." Said Norman smiling back.
"Huh? 2 Children are missing?" Said Gilda in concern. After their inspection, mom rang the bell as a sign for the children to come back. Norman and Emma just made it in time, they heard a distance voice call out, "MOM!!!" Yelled Marco, tears welling up in his eyes, "Marco! What happened?" asked mom, "What should I do!? I separated with Nila in the forest!!! Now I can't find her!" He said, tears rolling down his cheeks, Mom then grabbed something from her pocket, which seemed like a pocket watch, "Don't worry, Everyone! stay right here!" She quickly said and walked into the forest.
Then she came back with Nila in her hands, "don't worry! she's fine, not a scratch on her." Mom said smiling, Then it hit them, no....that wasn't a pocket watch, no, it was a tracking device.
"I guess they went to inspect what was over the gate" you said, sitting in the library with Ray up at the loft, "Yeah. they probably figured out that there was a wall over the small fence." Said Ray agreeing with you, "I wonder how their plans working out!" you say a little excited, He nods looking up from his book to see you were also climbing the loft, you sat next to him, opening up to your new found book at the higher shelfs, "When can we make a move?" you asked him, a little quieter this time, "Sooner or later, Don't rush it Y/N. I know you're still worried." He said rolling this eyes a little jokingly, And you smiled at this gesture.
"I guess they went to inspect what was over the gate." you say in a quiet tone.
they do seem quite wary of me, which is normal. But it's a good thing they haven't told the other children...yet. Mother Isabella definitely won't forgive me if she found out I spared the two.
you take a book from the upper shelves as a small smile finds its was to your lips.
