The clock on the wall strikes exactly 10:00pm as Norman walks out of his shared room. He meets up with Emma walking to her through the corridor, they both exchange glances before they head to an old unused room, Norman, pick locking the door. They both step in, looking around and taking each step with caution before stopping. Norman takes the thin sheet of fabric off the box, as the light attached to the ceiling creaked.
"You really thought this through Norman!" Emma says as she opens up her shirt to reveal a bunch of tablecloth tied together. "These could be a good substitute for a rope," said Norman. Emma climbs the tree, putting the tablecloth in the tree. "Now we can go over the wall!" Emma said cheerfully, jumping down from the tree. "Now, from here is the real challenge.."
"Where the tracking devices are." "And how to escape with everyone." They both said.
"Hey Norman? I was thinking maybe it's okay to tell Ray...and, about Y/N..."
"I was thinking about that too, If it's Ray probably won't panic, he's quite knowledgeable on machinery. I'm sure he will be a great help to us. But...."
"but?"
"I'll try and talk to Ray myself, and about Y/N...Emma, why don't you go back to the house-"
"why? What's up about Y/N?" asked Ray suddenly coming out of the bushes
Emma and Norman both jolt up in surprise.
"Yo."
"I followed you guys here, I was curious so I thought I'd ask." He handed his book to Emma.
Walking behind the two, he squished them both into his arms, "What happened at the gate that night huh? When you guys went to give Conny lil barney, you two were acting weird. You guys said you didn't make it but you came back empty-handed, and why was Y/N involved?" Ray bombard them with questions.
"sharp.." Norman mumbled
"No way nothing happened! Spit it!"
"Ray's too smart-" Emma said.
"Demons? Farms? Mom and Y/N's our enemy...? Isn't that serious?" Ray said with a concerned expression.
"Wow, you processed that fast-"
"So basically, you mean we were food. Made to get eaten by demons?" He asked.
"Wow, I mean- I didn't expect you to believe us so easily-" Emma said
"Ha? Of course, Norman won't lie about something like this, I guess maybe you would though, Emma." Ray deadpanned "Well if you think about it, there's going to be a lot of problems when it comes to actually trying to escape, first the amount of people we're going bring-"
Emma cut them off, "Wait! I wanna run away with everyone. Lend us your power, Ray!"
"Everyone..? You gotta be joking right? Everyone is 38 people, most of the kids are under 6. Mom, Y/N, demons, and tracking devices. It's already as hard as it is to escape, and you're telling me you're going to bring everyone-?"
"I know! But it doesn't mean it's impossible-"
"it's impossible. Emma, You didn't notice didn't you?"
"Ray wait-!" Norman tries to stop him but fails.
"Oh, I see. That's why you said you'll talk to me first about it huh. Those things we should say clearly." says Ray, walking up to Emma.
"Emma, just getting out of here won't do." Ray said.
"What do you mean?" Emma asked back.
"We don't know what's happening outside. But there's something, further than our shipment. You get an idea of what it looks like outside right? We even have farms. What awaits us outside is a demon society. They don't have a place for humans like us."
