Why hasn't he come? Why hasn't he taken me to Neverland? That was questions you had asked yourself. He had come for your grandmother when she was your age and her siblings, even your mom had met him, but she had denied that. She had stopped believing in the boy who never grew up and she didn't want your grandma to tell you. "Don't fill my daughter with nonsense. You had just filled my brain with your fantasies that I believed that I went there" You heard your mother say to your grandma. You were on your way down stairs when you stopped half way down when you heard talking.
"Jane, you know he exists, you even saw him" Wendy Darling told her daughter, but Jane was too stubborn. She had stopped believing and had convinced herself that her adventure in Neverland was a dream. She had waited for him to come back for her but he never came back and she waited for him and then she stopped believing in Peter Pan.
"No he doesn't mother. You need to see that for yourself. He is just a boy you made up and convinced me he was real and I believed that, but I grew up."
You didn't want to believe what your mother said. Wendy wouldn't lie to you. Would she?
"I want you to stop telling lies to my daughter and stop filling her head. I don't want her to believe in someone who doesn't exist." your mother shouted at her mother."And if you do I will take her away and you will never see her again, she needs to grow up" She said with venom in her voice.
You couldn't believe what she said and tears slowly rolled down your cheeks. What happened to your mother to make her like this? Why didn't she want you to hear about the lost boy your grandma loved.
The truth was that Jane had told herself that she needed to stop believing in Peter Pan because he never came back and Jane had hoped he would. So she stopped believing in him and forgot about him. For her it was just a story and that she had dreamed that night when Captain Hook took her and Peter Pan saved her.
The words your mother said to your grandma hurt her and she didn't want to believe what her daughter said. Wendy just wanted you to experience the same adventures she had with the lost boy she still loved. She wanted you to never grow up and become like your mother who never believed in anything anymore. Your mother wanted you to grow up, but you were still a child who wanted to believe in the lost boy you had dreamed of meeting since you heard Wendy tell you the story the first time.
"Jane. Honey you can't take that away from Y/n. You will break her heart and she will never forgive you. Peter Pan"
"Don't say his name, mother." Jane interrupted her. "Why can't you see that he isn't real. He is just someone you made up because you didn't want to grow up"
Wendy felt really sad and her heart broke from her own daughters words.
You couldn't listen anymore, it hurt your heart and you could see your grandma's sad broken face from where you stood. Wendy met your eyes and she could see your broken face and how hurt you were by your own mothers words. But What Wendy didn't know that you weren't the only one who was broken by her words. A special boy had heard the whole conversation. He couldn't believe he had caused so much pain. But what Jane didn't know that Peter Pan came back, but when he did Jane was never there.
Jane saw that her mother looked somewhere else and she looked where herlooked and saw you.
You met your mother's eyes and before she could say something you had run up the stairs to your room.
Jane tried to go after you but Wendy stopped her. "You should let her be alone for awhile." Jane wanted to protest but she knew her mother was right. It was no point talking with you when you were upset.
You closed your door and slid down to the floor. You put your arms around your legs and buried your head between your legs and cried. Then you saw a shadow looming over you and a pair of feets walking towards you. The person slowly went down on their knees and put a hand on your arm. You blinked away the tears and looked up and met a pair of brown eyes that belonged to a boy you never thought you would ever meet.
"Why are you crying?" He asked you with a caring voice and wiped away the tears you had on your cheeks.
"It doesn't matter why I cry" you said and looked down.
"Why not? A beautiful girl like you shouldn't cry" He said and lifted your chin up and smiled. You blushed and looked closely at the boy and saw he looked a lot like the boy your grandmother had told you about.
"Do I know you? You look familiar"
"Do I? Who do I look like?" He asked with a smirk. He knew that you did know who he was, but you needed to figure it out by yourself. He didn't want to spoil the fun and tell you because if he did you wouldn't believe him.
Then you saw a special detail about this boy, it was the knife he had strapped to his waist.
Wendy had told you that he always carried a knife with him and then it hit you.
"You Peter Pan"
He smiled at you and stood up and brought you with him. He held your hand in his own and looked into your eyes and said. "Do you want your dream to come true?"
"Which one?" You asked him because you had many dreams you wanted to come true.
"Neverland of course" He said and walked backwards to the window and led you with him. You nodded and had the biggest smile on your face because your biggest dream would come true, one part had already come true and that was meeting Peter Pan.
Peter Pan took a step out the window but before he took you away he called someone and there you saw the famous little fairy Tinkerbell. She flew around you so the fairy dust could land on you.
You thought of happy thoughts and Peter Pan let go of one of your hands and led you out the window. Then you heard footsteps walking closer to your room but before someone could open the door you were already gone and on your way to the second star to the right.
