Okay I know whenever I read werewolf stories I can get confused because a lot of them have different ideas regarding territory, humans, transformations, mates, and all that stuff so I will explain here how my world is gonna work. I will try to keep it brief.

First things first, in the description I mentioned the age of mates, that just means when a werewolf turns 18 they are able to find their mate. If one mate is 18 and the other is not then they can feel a connection with the person but are unable to identify what it actually is until they turn 18 as well. Also the 18+ mate can sometimes have dreams about the younger one although it is rare.

Werewolves turn at the age of 16. At 12 o'clock on their birthday they will go through the painful endeavor of turning into their wolf for the first time. That's it. This won't be touched on too much since most of the main characters are already over the age of 16.

The pack where this story takes place is one of the largest in the world, residing in Washignton, and no, not because of Jacob. I simply love Washington and know stuff about it lol. I will not get specific on actual locations because in reality such a large pack would not be able to hide the way I will make it seem in this story. They have an extremely large territory where all pack members live, hidden in the woods. It is so large that the kids of the pack go to 2 seperate high schools depending on where you live.

The schools are in fact human schools although some werewolves do work in them and obviously the werewolves go there too.

Humans do not know werewolves exist. Simple as that. Like I said, they live in the forest in a large territory, not completely realistic, but we can all pretend it makes sense. That is how they are kept a secret from humans.

I'm sure most of you know that the highest rank is an alpha, then comes beta, and omegas. There can be many alphas in apack but there is only 1 reigning alpha and all the other alphas must submit to them just like every other member of the pack. In the actual hierarchy there is the reigning alpha and their mate, aka luna, then the beta and beta female, then gamma, aka third in command, and gamma female, then pack warriors, and then the common folk of the pack. The majority of pack members tend to be betas and alphas, omegas are a little less common.

On the topic of omegas there are some things you must know in my universe. Pack members tend to be hyper aware of the omegas and their emotions, they feel it is their duty to keep omegas safe and calm at all times because they are very important in their society, and somewhat scarce. They are important because they carry most of the pack through chore tasks and tending to everything such as food, cleaning, upkeep, and other things. Betas simply conform to make an omega more comfortable. Alphas tend to be much more protective of the omegas and can go to extreme lengths to make them feel better. This is not to say that some pack members do not break past these instincts. Sadly many omegas are ordered around like servants and treated harshly for being weak, but this is usually not the case.

Now on reigning alphas. This is passed down through a direct bloodline. If the direct bloodline is stopped then the killer must take a blood oath to become a reigning alpha for the pack or the goddess, Luna, will choose a worthy couple from the pack to bear the next reigning alpha if there is not another family member. A direct bloodline means the reigning alpha passes the power down to the oldest son, unless they don't have a son, then it is passed down to the oldest daughter, and so on. When that entire direct family is wiped out then it moves on to the next oldest sibling of the alpha's child with the original reigning alpha's beta standing in until they are old enough. I don't know if this information will be important in this story yet, but here it is just in case.

Jericho does not actually have jewels on her head like in the cover picture... yet... maybe... idk, you'll just have to see.

If I have more to clarify I will either come back and edit this page or I will put it in an author's note before a page that touches on whatever subject it talks about.

Now that that is done, please enjoy my book.
