Unexpected Love

chapter 2 - organization

Lying down on my bed, my thoughts had been filled by him. Maybe he does live in our village? But where? But like maybe not? Ugh i don't know. Why am I even curious. I don't even like him. Slowly, I was able to remove him in my mind and focused on my studies.

Weeks later, there was a new organization/campaign in our village that was opening. I wasn't sure if I wanted to join or not. I wanted to join cause I wanna get out of the house sometimes and do something productive. I didn't want to join because I might have to wake up early and stuff. However, the organization was about helping elderies and the ones in need. That's why I wanted to join and it was only opening for 15-18 I think. And I'm 17 now so it's now or never. Hours of thinking, I was able to decide and join. I emailed the organization if there was still an opening for applications and they said yes and told me the details and requirements needed for the application and needed to visit them next week.

A week later, I was getting ready for the day to go to the campaign location which was a few blocks away from my house. I got all the papers that I needed to pass for them to accept me. I even presented myself appropiately and the same time in a cute style. I went into the entrance and saw all of the applicants inside. They were mostly guys and there were just a few girls who were joining. Minutes later, the one's in charge told us to place our papers and documents on their table and  made us sit down on the chairs and made us introduce ourselves one by one.

I didn't think that I see a familiar face in the room and that's the reason why I joined because I didn't knew anyone. However, when the 6th person introduce himself that's when I knew that I screw uped and wanted to get my documents back and regretted my choice. I was just sliding down my chair the whole time so that he wouldn't notice me. Minutes later, it was no use it was my turn to introduce myself. I had to stand up and shyly but loudly introduce my name and age. I tried not to face his direction as much as possible but he was almost beside the head hosts and I needed to make eye contact with them since they were asking questions. At the corner of my eyes, I can see him shocked and uncertain if he knew me or not. After that, I smiled awkwardly to the audience and sat back.

The session was about to end and suddenly someone tapped my shoulder and asked me something which I jumped a little.

"Hey, I'm Jake so do you live around the area?" he says.

"oh hi I'm Lisa, um yeah I do and you?" I said standing up and fixing my things.

He also stood up and replied "Yeah! I do too. I just live around corner it's like a 4 minute walk from here"

"Oh really? that's cool" I said looking for someone cause I wanted to avoid that someone.

"Wanna walk together?" He asked and I looked at him immediately.

"Uh, what?" I asked

He repeats himself "do you wanna talk together? since we live around the area"

"Oh sure, I guess" I smiled and he smiled too and it was kinda cute though not gonna lie.

We both head to the exit and talked about the organization and hoped that we would get in (well I somewhat didn't want to anymore cause I saw someone)
Unexpectedly, we were able to easily connect with each other and vibed really well. On the way to our houses, I saw Timothy walking on the opposite sidewalk as we were in. I immdiately held  Jake's shoulders and hid myself behind his back and made him walked slower.

Seconds later, I realized what I did and instantly removed my hands and said "sorry".

He was just so confused but he smiled and said "hiding from your crush?"

My eyes widen and replied "HELL NO, I was just uh uh wanted to compare our heights" (wow what a great excuse, Lisa)

He smirked "oh really huh?"

"Oh yeah for sure, oh whatcha look at there it's my street ok byeeee" I said, waved and ran away.

Well, that was embarrasing
