Unexpected Love

chapter 3 - Conversation

School was almost over and summer will begin. I'm savoring my last moments in school since i'll be a college student next year. Hanging out with my friends every fridays, group studies and late night calls. The three of us would be separating as soon as summer begins since we live far aways from each other.

Besides that, today is the day that the results come out for the campaign. I was home waiting for my email to arrive if I was accepted or not. A few hours of waiting, I received an email saying that I was accepted and had a meeting on saturday with the final crew. I was excited and estatic to meet the members (hoping I wouldn't see anyone familiar) and I was already preparing my outfit for saturday.

Yup, today's saturday. I'm finally seeing the final members of the community. Arriving at the venue five minutes earlier, I saw some of the members not seeing anyone familiar.

A few minutes passed by, the instructor arrived and annouced that they only accepted 16 members for the community. I saw 7 girls including me and the rest were boys.

Today, we were at the getting to know stage. The instructor divided us in four groups and annouce our group numbers. My name was called and I stood up and then out of the blue Timothy's name was also called. I was shocked. I didn't even know that he was in here how did I NOT notice it.

Both of our names were called and we were now standing next to each other. The instructor then asked "are you guys both in DTB's school?"

We both said yes and the instructor asked again "do you guys know each other?"

We then looked at each other and I turned to the instructor immediately and asnwered "uh, we're batchmates"

"Have you guys talked with each other?"

"Um, no? I don't think so" I replied with an awkward small laugh

"Well, I'm grouping people in the same school or the closest schools together, so you guys will be groupmates with Jake and Alex" He said and I looked for Jake around the place.

We both then went up to Jake but I walked a bit faster and greeted him.

"Hey Jake! Guess we'll be groupmates" I awkwardly smiled.

"No way! Really? That's so great! We'll have so much fun yess!" He said excitedly then side hugged me for a second. While me on the other hand just letting him be.

"Oh and who's this?" He suddenly asked me

"Hi, I'm Timothy. Your other groupmate. Her and I are batchmates" He replied to him gesturing me.

"Oh, hey man! That's cool and by the way guys. This is Alex my friend since like forever, so be comfortable with us" Jake replied.

A few moments later, we were all instructed to sit together on the floor in four circles. I was between Timothy and Jake. The instructor then said that the first task would be sharing about ourselves.

Jake spoke up first and said "well hey guys I'm Jake studying at starry university with Alex. I have a little brother. I'm an active person. I do basketball, soccer, volleyball, you name it but I do soccer the most." He confidently said.

Next up was Alex "hi I'm Alex same school as Jake and a friend of his. I like to game, dance, and also do sports.

Then I was next, "um hi, I'm Lisa. I study as DTB university currently a senior high school student. I have 2 little brothers and 1 little sister. And yes, I'm the oldest. I like to paint, watch shows and still learning how to play instruments.

"Well, I can help you with that." Jake commented then proceed to look at the last member, Timothy.

"Hello, I'm Timothy. Also study at DTB and a senior student. I have 2 younger brothers and same as you guys I like sports especially basketball." He said.

Minutes after, the instructor let us rest and called my group specifically Jake, Alex and Timothy to bring the water bottles inside our room which was at the other room. When they were doing that, I asked the instructor if I could go to the restroom and he said yes.

On the way back at the venue, I saw Timothy struggling carrying the packs of water bottles. I hesitantly approached him and asked "need help?"

"No, it's okay" he replied

"Oh c'mon you clearly need help" I said cause you can clearly see him struggling so I got some of the water bottles and walked with him.

"Thanks" he replied

"Sure, no problem" I replied.

Suddenly, without me thinking I said "sorry"

"Uh, sorry for what?" he questions

I imaginely face palmed myself and replied "oh you know just like being annoying. You've probably notice how I act when I'm with my friends and whenever you pass by"

"Oh yeah, I did noticed it but no it's fine I guess. By the way, you know my friends right?" He asked.

"Oh you mean Brent and Mark?"

"Yeah"

"Yeah, they were my classmates last year  and we interact sometimes and we were kinda sort of close I guess" I unsurely said

"Yeah yeah I noticed cause whenever I'm with them and you pass by you guys would greet each other time to time" He smiled.

"Yeah, we do sometimes" I said going inside our venue.

"HEY LISA, TIM COME HERE" someone shouted and we went there immediately dropping off the water bottles.

"Here's our place and tasks to do next week" Jake said

As a team, we picked our own tasks and agreed with each other. We would be all meeting at Timothy's house before the actual activity day to be able to practice and drop off everthing we need in his house since it was the closest to the venue.
