Ash's Point of view:
I watched my father bring his hook up, but just in time, he made eye contact with me and I was able to save the girl from being killed. At least for now.
"Go ahead. If it makes you feel better. But just remember, i'm pissed and i'll find you again so you better be cautious. You will never be safe from me." The girl said, such pure anger welled on her face, and the gash that my father had put was just making it worse. She seemed to be radiating anger off of her. But it wasn't only anger, she seemed to be depressingly happy, if that makes sense. We told her that my father had killed her friend, and she seemed to be expecting to die and see him again, she was accepting death.
I had seen her head tilt up, staring up at the pole we were next to. She closed her eyes slowly and her head fell to the side. Immediately I jumped in front of my father and felt around her neck, I found the vein that lead to her heart, and I waited. I heard my father's voice behind me,
"Ash, she's gone." He seemed sad when he said this. This girl meant something to him, something that I didn't know. I ignored it and waited anxiously.
I started to lose hope, she hadn't had a beat for almost a minute now. I sat back on my heels and kept my hand on her neck. I see my father and his men walk back, but I stayed. I stayed for another minute.
She can not be living still... can she? I waited for another thirty seconds, then I feel a slight thump. Something against my fingers moved. I waited. There. There it was. There was a heartbeat. It was slow and long, but it was still there. I almost leaped with excitement, she was alive!
I immediately take off my coat and my shirt, using my knife to cut it up into strips. I used one to wrap her thigh, having to fold the muscle over the right way before putting the bandage on. Then I wrapped her whole face, top to bottom, and then her arm. She resembled a mummy when I finished, but she was alive. I felt her wrist one more time, this time the beating was a little bit faster, not by much but it is still progress.
I carefully picked her up into my arms, her groaning a little bit, I tried to be light on my feet as I carried her into my father's office room.
"Shes alive! Shes alive!" I yell whilst bursting through his door.
"ASH? WHAT THE HELL?!" The captain screamed. "PUT HER BACK, SON! SHE'S LONG DEAD!"
"No father! Shes alive, come and see! I checked her pulse! Shes alive!" I carried her over to his desk and set her down in front of him. He reaches over and holds her wrist. I wait, about to jump out of my skin. My chest was starting to feel the bitter and cold wind blowing from outside. I shivered while my father waited.
"Shes alive." He mumbled "Shes really alive" he immediately looks up and almost yells at his crew members, "Lug, Tug, go and get three of the best doctors we have." he paused and looked down again, watching her blood seep through the makeshift bandage I had put on her.
