I flop down on the pillows, wincing at the pain in my back. I'll get used to it someday I guess... The mahogany ceiling pattern faded in and out of my vision as i stared intently at it. The bellowing laughter and arguing of the pirates below my windowsill seemed to be thunder going over the building. I sat in place as the noise seemed to be infinite, like the pirates never slept.

In the cell, it was not nearly this loud, the brick walls had some affect in keeping my nights silent. Now, the awful, off key, slurred singing of drunken pirates had come pouring through my window.

I smirked a little bit, thinking of a song that our school choir teacher had taught us all in fifth grade,

"What shall we do with a drunken sailor
What shall we do with a drunken sailor

What shall we do with a drunken sailor

Early in the morning.

Kill him for one...

My slight moment of happiness had gone once I realized that the chances of getting back home are nearly zero. But I was going to try anyways.

I stood and went to the door, only to find it locked.

Smart bastard.

I stepped over to the window and looked out to the forest view in front of me, the dark trees hiding anything and everything that could possibly be in those woods. That's where I will have to run straight to when I get out of here. Soon enough I will be gone and finding the lost boys to help me avenge Peter's death. And get back to my home.

Even now, I think about staying. I know there may not be a way to get there, but all that I need to focus on right now is manipulating the captain and his son. Step two on my plan.

I tap along to the tune of "Drunken Sailor" as I watch the trees sway in the night. The stars seemed to be standing out much brighter tonight, no moon to light the ground below me, instantly making me think of Peter.

We laid under the old oak, staring up at the stars. It was maybe eleven at night now, but neither of us were tired yet. We both had sneaked away from our beds in order to watch the meteor shower tonight. They flew past in our eyes as we stared in awe, the burning tails mesmerized us to sit still and barely breathe. Smiles on our faces never seemed to go away that whole night.

The next day would be tiring for both of us, but we didn't care. Right then was all that mattered, being in the same place as my best friend, watching something amazing at the same time, creating memories together.

Both of us huddled under a blanket, ignoring the itching grass at our legs, the crickets chirping all around us, and the wind making both of us shiver. All that mattered was the shooting stars above us, and the mere presence of the other next to us.

Little did I know, this was the last night I would spend with my best friend. My only friend.
