Friday rolled around, and Jin showed up at the soup kitchen at the scheduled time. Walking in, he found a tallboy waiting for him outside the offices.
"Jin?"
"Hi, you must be JB." Jin bowed to the other boy.
"I am. If you come right this way, the CEO is here too." Motioning for Jin to follow, JB walked a short way until they got to a closed office door. "Don't be scared. The CEO is super nice. Rare that he sits in for these interviews, but not unheard of."
Jin wiped his now sweaty hands down his pants. "Ok, let's do this."
JB opened the door, allowing Jin to walk in ahead of him, not noticing that Jin had stopped until he walked right into his back. "Oh crap, Jin, I'm sorry."
"Ho...Hobi?" Jin whispered, looking at the sunny boy sitting at the head of the table.
Hobi looked up, smiling. "Hi, Jin. It's great to see you again."
"I - well crap. I didn't know you ran Piece of Peace." Jin sat down after Hobi motioned to the empty seats.
"JB, I'll take this one. Can you get the inventory list for me?" JB didn't answer, knowing that there was way more going on than just a routine interview.
Hobi turns back to Jin. "Not many people know I run Piece of Peace. I don't hide the fact that I work with the various charities and organizations that I do, but I keep the CEO part pretty quiet."
"Then why.."
"I saw it was you. And I know we didn't leave things on good terms all those years ago." Hobi just shrugged. "I guess I wanted you to see I was doing good things with my second chance. I didn't waste it." He carefully watches the older man, seeing the hesitation taking over Jins normally happy features. "Look, I get it, hyung. I won't force you to work here, but I think you would be an amazing addition. Um, did you keep in touch with anyone else?"
Jin sat there quietly for quite a few minutes, making Hobi start to get nervous. Was the older man going to get up and leave? Would he never get the answers he desperately wanted?
"Come to dinner tonight. Find out for yourself. I'll give you my answer then." Jin scribbled his address on a piece of paper, laying it on Hobi's desk before walking out of the room and the building.
He drove home in a daze, not even remembering the drive. To be honest, it was a shock he didn't cause an accident. Walking into the house, he plopped on the couch, still staring into space. That's how Yoongi found him almost two hours later. Quiet and still. Considering Jin is normally bustling around the house doing something, it scared him.
"Baby, what's wrong? Did something happen? Are the others ok?" He shook Jin, trying to get him to snap out of his daze. It took a minute but finally, Jin's eyes focused on his.
"We're having a guest for dinner. I hope you won't be mad at me for inviting him if he even shows up."
"Babe who?"
"You'll see. I hope I did the right thing."
