Friend flirting. Everyone does it! Noel and I have been for years. We're just both naturally flirty people. It's natural for me to return the compliment. But his lingering look wasn't the usual deal. No no no lingering looks. I've seen him give it to the girls he goes after way to many times to not recognize it. You don't make that face at a friend. I walk to the drink table and he follows. Of course. I take my pick and turn to him.
"Yes Noel?"
"Nothing you just look really good"
I was not drunk enough for my best friend to be doing this. I take a big sip just as he says.
"Want to go outside?"
I slowly lower my drink, thinking about my options. Looking at noel I make it.
"Sure why not"
I finish my drink and walk outside with Noel following behind me. Outside is nice, perfect for what Noel has in mind. Well what I think he has in mind. He grabs my arm to slow me down. He's about to lean in when CeCe Drake pulls me away.
"You've got to see this!"
She walks me away quickly. I don't know whether to be mad or not. Kissing my best friend would either be the best or the worst thing I could do. She leads me back inside and I see my dork friends. Hanna looks as if she's been crying the poor thing. Aria and Emily look a little drunk much to my surprise and Spencer is of course reading. CeCe laughs and hands me another drink. After the awkwardness with Noel it was a much needed drink.
After dancing and drinking a shit ton with CeCe, we end up on the couch with the Kahns and my brother. CeCe whispers something in Eric's ear, then Jason's and the three of them walk out of the room to somewhere more private. Noel and I look at each other in disgust.
"I don't even want to know."
I laugh and take my shoes off. I'm exhausted and the room is spinning.
"I need to lay down."
Noel nods and brings me to one of the bedrooms. I try to unzip my dress but I can't.
"Unzip me?"
