It was almost time to go but the girls and I couldn't leave until we had the perfect outfit. You don't just show up to a Kahn party in something thrown together in less then a minute. It had to be the perfect combination of slutty and refined. Do you know how hard it is to mix those two together? You didn't want to seem too desperate, but you also didn't want to not get any attention at all. There had to be at least some guys looking your way, which was more difficult for my friends.

The girls were way too excited to pick things from my closet. Emily asked for my opinion while the others just rummaged through on their own. Of course, they picked out the worst of my clothes like the outfits I still had from 7th grade. I've been meaning to get rid of them, guess this is the easiest way. Poor hefty Hanna didn't fit in anything she was trying on.
"What do you think, Ali?" she said with a smile so big you'd think that Sean just asked her out.
Everyone stopped and I looked at her, "You have to be kidding yourself. It doesn't fit, Hanna. You might as well just go home and spend the night with the bag of chips that never leaves your side." God, you should have seen how her face changed from excited to mortified in a matter of seconds. "..But as your friend I won't let you do that." I searched through my drawers for something for her and threw a flowy cover up dress I wore to the beach this summer on my bed. "This is the best you're going to get. Remember, my help offer still stands." Hanna nods, picks the dress up and puts it on with tears still filling her eyes. These girls need to grow up. This is the real world and if you don't look like me, you're doomed. As Hanna was changing Spencer 'Know It All' Hastings whispered something in my ear about being nicer to her and as usual I rolled my eyes. She's trying to take my place, I can see it already.

When everyone was in their outfit of choice and all the makeup and hair was done, we headed to the party. As soon as we got there Noel Kahn walked over looking hot as always. The girls squealed and I shook my head. Noel and I would have a good laugh about them later. "Looking hot, Alison. You've all got my approval." He said with that smirk that filled up his whole face but made all girls everywhere drool...except for me, I actually had some control. "You don't look too bad yourself, Kahn." You see, we always flirted but neither one of us thought it meant anything until this night.
