"Take back what you're saying, Amelia! I didn't raise you that way" Mommy said angrily.
I cried and cried after Mom slapped me. This is not the first time she slapped me. But ... but ... it hurts. I don't know what else she said because I hurriedly went to my bedroom. Before I went up, I saw Chloe in the dining room looking at me and I could see the worry in her eyes.
"Come back here, Amelia! Take back what you said first. I did not raise you disrespectfully" That's all I heard from my mom because I locked my room.
I just spent my whole night studying. I would have gone to sleep when there was a knock.
'Knock..knock..knock ..'
I didn't open it because I thought it was Mom. I'm not ready to face her yet. I still hate her.
"It's me, Zoe" she said softly.
"C-Chloe?" I asked in astonishment. It was not Chloe's habit to knock on my door. And she only talked to me when something was important. So I wondered if she really was the one knocking at my door.
"Umm yes, this is Chloe" she said shyly.
I immediately opened the door, knowing it was her. As she entered my room, I immediately hugged her tightly.
"Ohh umm ... Zoe ... I-I didn't come here for ... ummm ... You left this downstairs," she said and I let go from hugging her. I was embarrassed. I thought she came here to comfort me. Hays.
"O-Ohh sorry, I'm just glad you are here" I said shyly.
Her cheeks become redder. Ohhh, you're so cute in that way Chloe.
"Ummm ... Is this yours?" she said while bowing and holding a notebook.
"Ah yes, this is mine. Thank you. This is my notes for my exam tomorrow" I said.
"Ahh, is that so? All right, I'll go back to my room" she said while holding the doorknob.
"Chloe wait, I have more to say" I grabbed her arm.
"W-what," she said nervously.
"Umm about what Mom said, I know you've heard those words. I'm really sorry I didn't mean to ..." I couldn't finish what I said because she spoke.
"It's alright, you weren't at fault. It was true what Mommy said" she said while smiling
"That was never been true, Chloe. You are my sister and you are her child. Even if we had different fathers, you're still my younger sister and that wouldn't change. I'm happy that I have a sister and that you are here. I'm always here for you, Chloe. So, just tell me what your problem is. I hope you will also accept me as your ... "my tears were dripping while saying those words. I finally said what I wanted to tell her. I just stopped when she suddenly put her pointing finger on my lips to calm me down.
"Shhh ... I'm also happy that you care and are worried about me, even though I am a child by mistake. I have long dreamed that someone would listen to my problems, so thank you. I have accepted you as my sister for a long time. I didn't show it because I thought... I thought you would not a-accept me." she cried a lot while hugging me.
I was so happy with what Chloe said. I can't believe she said that. I'm so relieved.
"I'm so happy, Chloe. Thank you for saying that" I hugged her tightly.
My tears welled up as she hugged me tightly. She also immediately released for a few minutes.
"Umm, I'm going back to the room" She said shyly. Maybe she didn't think she could say that, so she was ashamed of me.
"Ahh, of course. I'm sorry our conversation took so long" I said.
She walked to the door and opened it.
"Goodnight, Ate," she said before leaving.
O-Ohh I'm speechless.
