Ugh, what an annoying alarm clock. I smack the top of my clock to shut it up. It is 6:00 a.m. I wanted to get up earlier than usual since today is the big day. I rub my eyes then swing my legs over the side of my bed. I stand up with dizziness and try to find my balance. I grab my towel and stroll to the bathroom. I brush, half of the time dozing off, then get into the shower. I finish in about 20 minutes and get back to my room. While I walk back I smell the usual first-day breakfast that my mom cooks me every first day of school. I close the door of my room and change. I picked out my outfit yesterday because I was anxious to do something that would prepare me for school. It is my favorite red circle skirt, a white, diamond-emoji tank top, a red crop jacket, and my white converse. I grin and smirk in the mirror as I check out my outfit. Next step is makeup. Just a little mascara, a dab of red lipstick, and, oh dare me, a little powder. It's my first day and all, gotta look great. I grab my phone, earphones, and phone charger then head downstairs.

"There's my high school senior baby!" My mom shrieks when she sees me walking down.

"And there's my senior citizen mommy!" I shriek back.
She frowns at me then laughs.

"Hey! I might be old, but not to old to be a model, own a TV network and help manage my baby model." Mom defends.

I smile and say, "I could smell my breakfast from a mile away."

I glance to the table to see my stacked pancakes, French toast, an omelet, fruit salad and fruit punch. I must have drooled because my mom pushes me towards the table.

"Oh just eat already!" She says while giggling.

I check the time: 6:45 a.m. It taste even better than I remembered. I eat it quickly, but then I remember that James is picking us up. So Destiny is walking over to my house today. By the time I realize that, I am already done with my breakfast. My door bell rings and that lets me know that Destiny or James is here. I jump up and dash to the front door. There Destiny stands in a white skirt, a red, tight shirt that says, 'I don't bite.' and her white vans. We always where the same colors on the first day of school.

"Dang, someone is looking fi-ineeee!" Destiny says.

"Same, girl, SAME." I say back.

With that last word James drives up and honks his horn 3 times.

"Ayeeee!" James yells.

Destiny and I jump in over the doors and I honk the car 3 times. We laugh for a millisecond. While we are driving to school I see our old friend Ashley.

"Girl, you need a ride?" I ask her.

She jumps then says, "Oh dang, it is just you. Y'all scared me! Oh, and yeah that'd be great." She shakily says.

She throws her stuff in the car then hops into the back with Destiny.

"Thanks." She says to James.

He nods with a smile. It isn't long until we get to school. Wow, finally seniors and tomorrow I'm finally 18. It just has to be a good year. James parks in his reserved spot that I bought him.

"That really comes in handy, Diamond. Thanks again." He says talking about the parking spot.

"No problem."

We all dash to the door, but take a deep breath right before we walk in. I open the door and step in. Then all of us laugh, thinking about how dumb we are being. James and I stroll over to our lockers while Destiny and Ashley make their way to their locker.
