James's POV
•
We used the pass to go out and eat since we we would be going back as soon as lunch was over. We went to Chipotle.
"Oh my gosh! Diamond! Happy Birthday! I cannot believe I actually let that slip my mind," I say feeling really bad.
"What?" She pauses. "Oh yeah. I totally forgot today was my birthday!"
"Wow...I'm going to miss your party..."
She looks down, then shoves food in her mouth. Maybe I shouldn't have said that...
"Well then let me take this time to honor your birthday. We can go to all your favorite places since we have an hour before the ditch-school pass expires," I suggest.
"Yeah, sure."
Once we finish our food we head to Diamond's house to grab our swimsuits. We are about to step in when I remember something. The surprise party.
"Here, I'll go get your swimsuit. You just stay right here."
"Why," she questions.
"Because it's your birthday. You shouldn't have to do anything, I'm your personal butler for the day."
Before she can respond I walk inside and close the door. Running upstairs, I notice the decorations. Diamond is going to love this surprise party...to bad I can't be here. Once I reach her room, I quickly grab her swimsuit and run back outside.
"Here you go."
She takes her swimsuit and says, "Thanks."
We get back into the car and head to the pool.
.....
"That was so much fun!"
I smile at Diamond and say, "I'm glad you had fun."
I took her to the pool, Skyzone, then to the mall to buy her clothes for her birthday. I'm driving to my house so she can shower. I knew I couldn't take her home because of the decorations, so I had to take her to my house. She kept on questioning why, but I just told her that we always go to her house and we never go to my house anymore, so she eventually agreed. Once we got there, the first thing she noticed were all the moving boxes. The house looked so empty to me.
"Well...I'mma go shower."
Diamond dashes off to my downstairs bathroom. My mom walks in and looks toward the bathroom in which Diamond is occupying.
"Diamond's here," she asks.
I nod my head.
"Wait. Why aren't you in school?"
"Principal gave us a ditch school pass and we used it since you are making Diamond and I separate by moving," I reply.
My mom squints her eyes as if I'm being overdramatic. I roll my eyes and turn on the TV. I watch half an episode before Diamond emerges from the bathroom with a new outfit on. I check my phone, we have 20 minutes to get back to school.
"We should head back, we only have 20 more minutes," I tell Diamond.
"Okay, but can I see your mom first," Diamond asks.
"Sure, just turn around," my mom answers.
Diamond giggles while she turns around.
