I finish healing the last major wound and fall into Hayden's arms. He smiles at me. "Is there a way I could have some soul back?" I ask jokingly. "If you really need it." I stare at him wide eyed. "But...I thought...You could only..?" He laughs softly. "Doc taught me how to give back so to speak. Oh and I came to tell you we got first watch." I groan. "Give me some soul." He laughs again then pulls me gently behind the crates. Not wasting anytime he kisses me slowly. What is up with him today. I pull away a bit and open my mouth waiting. He grins before letting some of the white smoke travel into my mouth from his. He pulls away after a bit and whips his mouth. "How was that?" He questions, smiling at me. I shake my head and let him pull me up. "I feel like I drink 50 energy drinks!" I smile from ear to ear. We climb up the stairs leading to the roof. "How long are we on watch?" I ask quietly. Hayden pulls two crates over to the ledge. "Around two hours. Then Nick and Chris take over." I nod at him then lay against the crate, pulling my cold hands into my jacket. Chris is a mutation night seer. His only power is night vision what comes in handy almost daily. I have the cat vision making my eyes able to see better then humans in the dark but not as good as Chris's night sight. I pull the light jacket closer to my skin. "I wish we wore better clothes." I state. Hayden nods and sits down by me. Our shoulders touching lightly. Our outfits all contain of the same thing a light gray jacket, white shoes, blue jeans and a white tee shirt. "We should hit the thrift store on the corner. With all are clothes matching its obvious that we escaped from somewhere." I continue. Hayden just nods and stares down the empty street. Fine then we won't talk. I sigh and try to get comfortable.

Its been a hour and I am bored out of my mind. I groan loudly. Hayden throws me a look then goes back to his staring contest with the stop sign. I throw myself down on the cold roof and stretch out. This is the longest two hours of my life. The sun set not to long ago and the dark is setting in. The lonely street light lets out a buzz before slowly flicking on. I shiver again. "I'm gonna shift." I state and pull myself up. "You can't. It's not save. Someone could easily see you." Hayden says not even looking at me. I groan again knowing he's right. I lay back down and start counting the bugs around the low light. After awhile I get bored with that. "Hayden I'm bored!" I whine. He looks at me then back at the road. I sit up and stare at the road. There's no one in sight. "What are you even looking at?" I whine again. He stays staring at the road not even glancing at me. I huff and cross my arms. "You're a pickled dick." I mutter quietly. His lips twitch slightly, holding back a grin. I smile evilly as a idea forms in my head. I pull myself up. He's leaning against the crate with his legs out in front of him. I slowly walk in front of him, stepping so my legs are on either side of his. He looks up at me slowly. I smirk at him then take a step forward so I'm standing over his guy parts. His eyes widen as I plop down into his lap so straddling his lap and facing him. He glares at me and I smile back. "Kit I need to be able to see the street." He states. My smile widens. "Then make me move." He glares at me again but makes know move to move me. I smile in victory. "Just cause i'm a guy and your cute does not mean it's okay to use my hormones against me." He growls. I gasp and stand up. "I'm not cute. I'm sexy!" He grins up at me. I smile back and sit down, leaning up against my crate.

"Hey Hayden you're watch is over." Nick states a hour later. He  jumps my crate and lands in front of me. "But not yours Kit." He smirks at me and I glare back. "Why?" Hayden questions. I give him a look. "Chris went into the woods and never came back." Nick explains. He looks down at his feet then at the road. I see the sadness in his eyes. Looks like bad boy Nick has a heart after all. "So they want me up here cause I can some what see in the dark?" Nick nods at me. "Who's calling orders?" Hayden asks. Nick shrugs. "Everyone is pretty scared after Chris went messing." "They need a leader." I add giving Hayden a look. "I guess all go calm them done." He states throwing me a look. "Tell the new ones the plan too." I yell as he walks away. Nick smirks at me. "What do you want to do now?" I look at the street. "Shift and run down the street seeing if I can get someone to shit them self's." I mutter and Nick laughs. "I would love to see that." I smile at him. "What do you wanna do?" "Sleep. I know not as cool as yours but we have to cover some miles tomorrow and that's not gonna happen with no sleep." He yawns. I throw him a look. "You can't even talk. I just spent two hours up here and now I have to spend more." I growl and Nick sighs. "Ya i'm sorry about that." He looks me in the eyes. I look away from him feeling uncomfortable. I stare down the street and see a old man walking across the road. "That reminds me I never said thank you for you helping me get away alive. So....Thank you!" I give Nick a shy smile. He smirks back then goes serous. "You don't need to thank me. Anytime you need saving I will be there." He goes quit letting that sink in. "I would die for you any day." He states looking me in the eye again. I feel warmth cross my cheeks. "You don't need to." "I want to Kit." Oh great heaven of hamburger. I look away from him. "I'm strong, I can handle myself." I huff and look at him again, my eyes narrowing. "You promise me if its between saving me or the group. You save the group. No questions asked." He looks at the stars, back at me then the street. He clinches his jaw thinking. He looks at me and answers slowly. "I can't promise that. I could never promise that." He begs me with his eyes to understand. No, I don't understand at all. I huff again and look at the road. I jump when I see the old man looking right back. I touch Nick's arm, my eyes never leaving the old mans. Nick looks at the man too, then swiftly pulls me up. "Go behind the crates." He whispers softly. I do as he says and he turns back to the man. "Can you not stare it's making my girlfriend uncomfortable!" Nick yells. I whip my head at him. Girlfriend?! I am no such thing. I open my mouth to tell him so when his soft lips touch mine. I jump in surprise then melt into his embrace. Whoa he's a good kisser. He kisses gently at first then deepens the kiss when I don't pull away. I would if I could but my brains gone to mush and all I can think about is Nick's hot lips on mine. Slowly common sense starts making it's way back into my brain. I need to pull away right now before I give him the wrong idea. I try to get my body to do so but its not gonna happen. I feel his tongue slid against my bottom lip. Suddenly my body starts working and I gently pull away, biting his lip before actual stopping the kiss. I take my time catching my breath and he just smirks at me. "Sorry about that. I just need someway to get the man to go away. I thought making-out teens might help." He looks down at the now empty road then back at me. "Looks like it did." I make a face still trying to understand what just happened. I lean slightly on the crate for support. Nick smirks again, his eyes twinkling in amusement. "Maybe you should sit down. You look a bit shock." "I'm fine." I snap, blowing out air threw my nose. I jump smoothly unto the crate and sit on the edge. Please let these next hours go quickly. I need to curl up and go into dream land.
