Since we were still stuck in a pandemic, our options for a drink were fairly limited. We finally decided on a restaurant that also had a bar so that we can sit a good distance away from others.
I arrived first and got us a table. I thought back to the other times that I had drunk with Damian, back when we were at the PC together and actually had time to hang out. He always drank straight whiskey. So that's what I ordered him. I got water with extra lemons.
By the time he walked in, his drink was sitting on the table.
"Thanks," He said, gesturing towards the glass.
I nodded and smiled as I sipped my water.
"By the way, our party is about to get crashed."
I gave him a confused look.
"The UE, Rhea, and Shotzi all invited themselves while I was leaving."
I giggled. "How did they even know where you were going?"
"I told Kyle cause he asked me to go get a drink with him," Damian said and drank from his glass. "But Rhea said you told her and she was coming."
"I did tell her. But I didn't invite her." I laughed. "She tends to do what she wants anyway."
Damian shrugged, "I don't mind."
"Me neither."
It's not like this was a date. I certainly hoped he knew it wasn't a date.
"How's your head?"
"Sore." I said. "But that's really nothing new."
We're wrestlers. We're always in pain.
Damian opened his mouth to speak, but was interrupted by Rhea Ripley scooting into the booth beside me. The booth was circular so I moved closer to the middle to give her more room.
"Hey," she said.
"Hi," I said. "Nice of you to invite yourself."
"Wasn't it though." she laughed.
I rolled my eyes at her but laughed. She gestured to the waitress then to my water, indicating she wanted one too.
"The UE is right behind me." She said right. Less than a minute later Kyle slid in beside Damian. Damian moved closer to me in the center to make room. Bobby and Adam slid in next to Rhea, and then Roderick was next to Kyle. "Told ya," Rhea said.
Another minute later Shotzi slid in beside Adam. I was pretty sure that she was sitting on the edge of the seat. I scooted closer to Damian to give her more room. We were shoulder to shoulder until Damian put his arm behind me over the booth. I scooted closer, half on instinct and half to give everyone else more room.
Everyone ordered drinks and we all fell into easy conversation. Roderick left after he finished his drink and Shotzi moved to his spot since there was more room on that side of the booth. Damian finished his second glass of whiskey then ordered a glass of water. The others started on their second round of drinks, and I was on my fourth glass of lemon water.
In a lull in the conversation, "Let's play a game." Kyle announced.
"What?" I gasped.
"Seriously," He said matter of factly.
"What on earth are we going to play?" Rhea asked.
"Uhhh...Truth or dare" Kyle stated. "Without the dare." He added quickly when Rhea started to protest. "That's impossible to do in a public place...usually."
