Everyone left the house early in the morning, so it was just Nayeon in the house. Sana left a note saying that they were going to the park to let the kids have a bit of fresh air and they will be back later.
Nayeon was washing up the dishes that were left behind on the counter. Everything changed for her over the past few months. She changed jobs, has not seen her mother at all and she hasn't spoken to Jinyoung either. Her brother had a beautiful baby boy called Jeongin a month ago.
There were a few knocks on the door, bringing Nayeon out of her daydream. "Coming!" She shouted, running to the door and quickly opened it to see Mina and Mark standing there.
"Hi, is Sana in? We want to see the new baby!" Mina smiled and Nayeon extended the door open for them to come through.
"No sorry, she's gone out with the kids but she'll be back soon." Nayeon told them and guided them to the living room.
Mina smiles, "It's fine, we can wait for her to come back." Nayeon nodded and walked to the kitchen, where she poured some orange juice for the guests.
"How's Jinyoung?" Nayeon puts the tray down in front of them and meets Mark's eyes, which looked desperate for an answer.
"I'm not sure, sorry."
Mark nodded and picked up a glass of orange juice, taking a small sip before putting the glass back down on the counter. "I guess you haven't been getting a goodnight sleep lately, Nayeon." Mina changed the subject in a hurry. She didn't want any awkward tension between her friend and her husband at this moment of time.
Nayeon hums, "honestly it's been fine, the baby has been quite unsettled but after a couple of nights and sleeping in his parent's room, he's been alright." Mina smiled in response. She was quite excited to meet her new nephew and her sister, to be honest. They have not seen each for a while as the hospital instructed Sana to stay at home and rest until the baby arrives and Mina has been busy in the cafe, trying out new recipes to put on the menu.
The doorbell rings and Nayeon stands up rapidly, "it must be them." She told the guests before dashing off to answer the door. Surprised, she finds Jinyoung standing at the door with an exhausted-looking Sana, who was trying to settle the kids down before they entered the house.
"Kids, quieten down and go inside, wash your hands first before going to watch television," Nayeon pipes up, "Sana, Mina is here but you can go upstairs and put Jeongin down for his nap and i can keep them company." Sana nodded and muttered a quick thank you before taking a sleepy Jeongin upstairs so he could have his nap.
"Are you going to let me in?" Jinyoung asked, and Nayeon rolled her eyes as she remembered he was still standing outside the house door.
"And why should I?"
Jinyoung chuckles, "well I want to see my daughters and my new baby nephew. Maybe I would like to see her ex wife as well. I mean, she's ignoring my text messages and declining my phone calls as well."
"Look, Jinyoung, this will not work whatever it is you have got planned for me. Can't you accept that me and you are over? My feelings for you have gone away forever, and I have given you a chance and just destroyed that when you decided you did not want me anymore, when you realised you didn't want me to be a part of your life." She moved away from him and was making her way back inside. "If you still wanted me, you shouldn't have got those divorce papers. Goodbye Jinyoung."
The young male was outside, staring at the house as some tears streamed down his face.
