Catherine POV

After running the errand, I made my way to class, the class that I hated to be exact. Trying my best to distract myself from thinking about the incident that just happened I bumped into Jasper a.k.a my ex boyfriend. "Hey there Sugar. How are things?" Jasper asked while he leaned against his locker. Jasper and I dated for eight months last year. You could say were we pretty special, we looked good together and that we were serious about each other but that was it. Even though I loved and cared for him, I could not see my future with him by my side. Also, he wanted something I wasn't ready to give. My virginity. I kept on telling him later but what I really meant was not ever NEVER. And that's what ended us, me refusing to let him take advantage of me.

Usually I'd stay and chat for awhile but not today. After what happened in front of the library, I just wasn't in a mood to talk to him so I walked passed him and pretended to talk to Mr. Maddox my Chemistry teacher who was also walking to class. "Hello Mr. Maddox." I greeted politely. "Ah! Catherine just the person I wanted to see." Mr. Maddox stated. Oh no when he says words like that it means he's going to talk about my results. I failed Chemistry a couple of times. Why? Because I suck at it. Science stuff really isn't my thing. "What is it Mr. Maddox?" I asked trying my best not to freak out. "It's about your results." Of course it was, what else would it be about, my beauty? I didn't say anything and he continued "You do know that if you want to go to Harvard you have to push yourself to pass this subject this year. I have some plans for you and I'm not sure whether you'll like it but I'm confident that it will help so I hope you give a try." he said. I only nodded and we made our way to class. I'm doomed.

Almost arriving, I saw the same dark green checkered shirt and white sleeveless sweater in front of the classroom I was about to enter. Oh no! We're in the same class? How could this be? Wow, I must really hate this class that I wasn't even aware of the other students in this class. The only person I knew in that class was my best friend, Diana. If only I didn't see Mr. Maddox earlier I could have skipped this class.

When I finally settled down beside Diana after giving my death glare to Nick the Nerd. Then my eyes caught a blonde haired boy that was staring at me or so I thought. "Psst. . . Diana, I think there's someone staring at you." I said as she looked up at me and I moved my eyes to the direction of the person staring at her. Honey blond, ocean blue eyes, long sleeved t-shirt and scrawny. I would give him a 4. "Yeah I know and I don't really care. Although he does seem kind of familiar." she shrugged. "Familiar? You're both in the same school, let alone the same class of course he's familiar." I answered. " Not that kind of familiar Cathy. It's like I've seen him somewhere before like a memory I can't reach." Diana replied. Diana does have some memory issues from time to time. Doctor said that it was because something happened in her past before she went to the orphanage. Maybe it was too bitter for her to remember. I simply nodded and tried to prepare for the lesson. I wonder what was Mr. Maddox plan. Hopefully it's not that bad.

I couldn't concentrate on my chemistry test because my mind kept wandering about the Nerd. What am I paired up with him? No, not him! Anyone but him. I hope he's not one of those typical nerds that would take advantage of past situations and use it against me. Oh god why am I thinking about our lips touching again? Ugh!

So that was his plan? I'm so doomed. Holy crap! Why him of all people? Me and the Nerd were paired up together? Doing a project? And he was my tutor? Diana is good at Chemistry, why can't I be paired with her? I tried my best to reason with him but he kept cutting me off. "Opposites do make a wonderful combination and I paired up the both of you because Nick can help you. Nick is my best student and unfortunately you are not." Mr. Maddox remarked. My mind went blurry and I didn't hear anything else Mr. Maddox was saying. He did make a point, a very good one to be exact. Okay, let's be professional about this, the harder I work to pass this subject, the faster I can get rid of him. Forget whatever happened before and just focus on your endpoint okay, Cathy.

When I turned to look at Nick, he was already looking at me. Looking at his natural black hair and his one sided broken lens on his glasses, I could see his brown eyes. I could tell easily that he didn't want to do this as much as I did. I tear out a piece of paper from my notebook and wrote my phone number on it. As I was writing it I realized that his handkerchief was still wrapped around my palm. It had black and white stripes on it, it reminded me of Cruella De Vil and who of this age would carry a handkerchief with them? Ugh so Nerdy. I handed him the piece of paper and gave him a warning just before I left the room, "Just so you know I really need to pass this subject so don't try to do anything stupid." I saw him grinned and I left for my next class.

I walked down the corridor and the sound of my footsteps in my black Vincci heels echoed the walls. I entered my next class and I could see Melissa waiting for me. She tapped on the table beside her as a gesture for me to sit beside her immediately. I picked up my pace and hurriedly sat beside her and turned to wave hello at her twin sister, Jessica behind me. Melissa and Jessica are two red-headed identical twins and are the total opposites. Jessica was more of the girly one with straight long hair that framed her face beautifully and Melissa was slightly more boyish with a short bob that gave her more of a cute innocent look than Jessica. You would think that I would friends with Jessica but surprisingly Melissa and I clicked more better.

" So what's up? And where's Diana? " I asked realizing that Diana wasn't in class yet. "You don't know? I thought you did, isn't that why you're late to class?" Melissa answered. Oh no what happened to Diana now? Please don't tell me that she's had another attack. Is that the reason why she was so gloomy during Chemistry? "I was late because Mr. Maddox wanted to see me after class. Tell me what happened." I demanded. "She went to the hospital right after her class ended. She said it was nothing serious but she needed to see her doctor immediately." she replied. Melissa held my hand to calm me down, "We'll see her after school, alright." she said.

Right after our teacher walked into class, I felt a tap on my shoulder passing me a note. It was from Jessica, 'I was at the library after lunch and I saw something. Really didn't know you had it in you.'

I'm totally doomed.
