The bond. book 1

Chapter 1

Seven years after the finale of Fairy Tail when Alvarez had come and nearly beaten them all. The time that the dragon slayers had to beat the king of dragons the one battle Natsu almost didn't make it back from alive.

" IM ALL FIRED NOW!!" Yelled Natsu as he launched on top of a monster's head with his flame hands and brought them down onto his head.

" Natsu!, move it" commanded Erza . Natsu rolled his eyes and replied " alright , alright I'm working on it"

"Excuse me!", she yelled up to him glaring while Natsu knew he shouldn't have mouthed off to her because 7 years or not, she was still scary as hell. " Sorry Erza" he pleaded. "FIRE DRAGON ROARRRR!!!" Natsu shouted as the flames came out of his mouth and brought down the monster. "Nice work Natsu, Thanks Lucy" as he grinned toward his partner. "way to go you hothead" said Gray as he walked up to where him and Lucy were standing in victory. " I didn't see you trying , you walking icicle" Insulted the fire maker to the ice mage. "Knock it off! You two" commanded Erza. "Yes Maam". " Let's go get our reward and head on back to the guild guys" said Natsu. "Aye!!" replied Happy with grin. The four of them with Happy had become a hell of a team in the last 7 years. 

 Nobody could step into Magnolia without hearing about the most powerful team in Fairy Tail. Whatever job it was whether it was low risk or high, they took it and they always went together. If one of them couldn't go, they would let someone else take it. "WE'RE BACK!" shouted Natsu as they walked through the doors of their home. "Hey, Hey, hey" from the wizards in the guild. " How did the job go guys?" asked Mira. They all went and sat at her bar and Lucy answered" Great, we destroyed the monster, got some money out of it with nobody injured" with a smile. 

"PLEEEASE tell me nothing was destroyed in this job" pleaded Master Makarov as he came around the corner. Erza grinned and said " no master, nothing was burnt or destroyed, Natsu did a nice job on this one" "shut up Erza" Natsu retorted. He put his arm around Lucy and smiled. Lucy turned and looked him with her big brown eyes and gave him a kiss. He leaned right into it with another. 

 They had finally decided to give into each other's feelings a few years ago when they finally stopped dancing around each other and admitted it. Everyone was wondering when they would figure it out after all these years had passed. Even Happy was done waiting around for them to finally quit acting like they didn't love each other. 

"Life can't get much better than this for me" Lucy said happily. "I know what you mean" Natsu agreed as he took her hand and held it. "I love you Lucy, I love you too Natsu" "What do you say we head on home? "he asked, " Sounds good, I want to hop in the bath, let's go Happy" "AYE sir" The three of them smiled and waved to their guild mates as they walked on out. Mira Jane reflected on when Lucy had first arrived and changed everything. She especially helped Natsu move on from the loss of Lisana back then and look forward to something else. Lisana at that moment just popped up and said " look at the smile Natsu has on his face now with Lucy" Erza and Gray just sat there chuckling. Those two had been working with them longer than anyone and knew how happy they were.
