Chapter 29

Chelsea POV
Nick asks question but I ignored them I wasn't ready to talk about it nick hugs me than I get out of the car walking to my room I took off my dress and heels and put pajamas on. I cried myself to sleep feeling empty. Why didn't Liam tell me? Why did everyone know but me?

The next morning I walk in the kitchen where I see my mom she's back early from Paris. I hug her and tell her good morning.

"Sweetie guess what" my mom says as she sips her coffee

"What?" I say

"I got 2 weeks off for spring break, so I thought why don't we go to New York for 2 weeks to get away. I asked your brother, but he said he couldn't do it will be just us two" my mom says all happy

"Yess mom I would love that to get away from everyone" I say especially to get away from Liam

"Okay are flight leaves in 4 hours so be ready" my mom says than goes to her room

I need to get away it will give me time to think about everything. I go to my room and pick up my phone I have a voicemail from Liam I decided to listen to it later I'm not ready to hear it. I pull out my suitcase and start packing I packed . After I'm done I grab a the book called "After" to read when I'm on the flight I take a shower and get dressed my mom calls me to go already.

We get to the airport we go through security than enter are flight that was gonna take 5 hours to get to New York.

5 hours later

we arrived my mom pretty excited. We waved down a taxi and go to the resort that my mom picked out. We check in are rooms which was beautiful the rooms were big. We had a view of a beautiful pool. As we settled in I decided I want to go read by the pool. I put on my bathing suit.

"Hey mom I'm going down to the pool" I say

"Okay I'm gonna take a nap" my mom says I grab a key card and my book. I make my way to the pool.

I find a empty tanning chair and sit in it I pull out my book out and star reading it.

"Hmm chelsea" a random voice says I look up it's James Scott

"James" I say

"Nice seeing you here it's like we're meant to be" James says winking at me I roll my eye at him

"What are you doing here?" I say as James sits in the empty spot next to me

"Well you baby girl my family owns this resort" James says with a smirk

"Oh" I say I didn't know what to say to him

"How long are you gonna be here?" James asks me

"2 weeks"

"Well looks like we're gonna see each other a lot, so we should be friends" James says to me with a smile

"Fine but only friends that's it" I say looking at James

"Okay friends only"he sicks out his hand and I shake it

A few days go by it's our last day in New York.James Scott is actually not that bad we have a lot in common. He got my mind off of Liam and Natalie. I hate that this is my last day I kept in touch with Chloe who kept me up with everything she's throwing a last day of spring break party the day I get back. I haven't decided if I want to go I don't want to see Liam. I haven't listened to the voicemail I've been ignoring it not wanting to listen to it.

My mom out with a friend she meet here, so I decided since I'm alone in my room I should listen to the voicemail. I grab my phone and open my voicemail. I press play and listen to Liam voice.

Voicemail from Liam
I know you don't want to talk to me, I get you hate me I don't blame you fuck but I'm sorry you found out that way. I care for you chelsea your all I think about 24/7. I was slowly falling for you but Natalie got in the way. If I could be with you I would, but right now I have to be with Natalie. Until I figure it out.

I cry hearing the voicemail why dose he have to be with Natalie? What dose he have to figure out? As I'm crying I hear a knock at the door I whip my eyes and open the door.

"Hey do you want- what's wrong" James says with a worried look Instead of talking I hug him and cry in his chest I felt so broken James tells me everything okay.

"Let go inside and talk about it" James says I agree. We sit on the bed James looks at me worried I stop crying and clear my throat. I tell James everything from sneaking around with Liam so my brother won't find out to him being engaged to Natalie I even showed him the voicemail.

James looked at me surprised but supportive if my brother found out I'm friends out with the rival I wouldn't hear the end of it.

"What a dick" James says

"I know" i say wiping tears away

"So who's this Natalie girl?" James asks

"Liams ex girlfriend she came back 2 months ago you want to know the worst part" I say

"What?" James says

"Seeing them together all over school, party's everywhere. There even a party tomorrow And I'm pretty sure there gonna be there" I say with my face in my hands

"I got a good idea" James says

"What is it?" I say picking up my head looking at him

"We fake date to get him jealous" James says with a huge smile

"Why would we do that?" I say with a confused face

"Well chelsea after hearing that voicemail he sounds like he really likes you even tho he's engaged, but we just have to give him a little push" James says

"What do you get out of this?" I say looking at James

"I'll be dating the one my rival wants plus it will piss him off I haven't forgot when he stole jasmine from me in 9th grade " James says with a smirk

"How will this work" I say

"Simple take me to that party tomorrow and we will tell everyone we got close over spring break we fell in love than we started dating" James says

"What about my brother?"

"We will deal with that later"
