The Bad Side of Things

Chapter 21

Once we get to the bookstore I help Hope open up, and immediately getting a few customers who Hope knew by name. It was fun to actually be able to help Hope in the store instead of just watching her work, not that I was complaining whenever she would stretch her abs showed and her arms would flex and the veins in her hands show when she picks up heavy books.Those same hands have choked me more times than I can count. 

"Hey, Jo?" 

"Yeah?" 

"Could you go into my office and grab me the book on my desk?" 

"Of course." 

I step into her office taking the hardcover book off her desk and walking out handing it to Hope. She takes it then rings up for the elderly lady on the other side of the counter. 

"Here you go, Mrs.Jones." 

"Thank you dear. Oh, also congrats on the baby." 

"Well, thank you." 

The lady smiles kindly then walks out of the store ringing the bell as it opens. 

"You gonna tell everyone we're having a baby?" 

"Yes, of course. It is news to be shared with everyone." 

I roll my eyes keeping a smile glued to my face. 

"You're so ridiculous."

"But you love me." 

"I do, unfortunately." 

Hope feigns a gasp, pulling me in for a kiss. 

"I love you more than life itself, Josie Saltzman almost Mikaelson." 

"Oh, thinking about that we should really start planning the wedding." 

"Don't you think we should tell Lizzie though first? She might feel offended if we tell her and hire someone else to plan our wedding." 

"Painfully, you are telling the truth. I kinda just want to have her be my maid of honor over our wedding planner." 

"Whatever makes you happy, babe. I've been thinking of having MG be my best man, but I don't know for sure. I guess I've never thought about it. I do know that we should invite your parents, Nikolas, Vincent, and the super squad." 

"Penelope too?" 

"What happened with Penelope? Did she try something because I swear if she did I'll slit her throat out for you." 

"All she said was that she hated seeing us together so she left for Belgium, but that was it. She didn't try to kiss me or anything." 

"Good, cause I would hate to get blood in the car. Anyways moving on what color scheme are we doing?" 

"Silver." I giggle. 

Hope gives me an unamused face. 

"Really? A wolf joke? If you're going to insult me at least try better." 

"Aww, I'm sorry baby. How can I make it up to you?" 

"Hmm, let's see. When we get home I want to get ALL the kisses." 

"ALL?" 

"Mhm. So then Penelope" she speaks in a mocking tone as she say her name. "Won't even have your attention. It's my job to claim you so no one else can have you."

"You're very adorable when you say things like that." 

"Pfft. I'm not adorable. I'm terrifying and deadly."
