Ben's Point Of View
I threw my hands up in victory as I defeated the final boss. I already knew what was going to happen next; the villagers would thank me, the banners of honor would fall, the king would congra--
There was a sharp tap on my shoulder, causing me to jump. I whipped around to see Jack, a painfully panicked look on his face. "Wha-" I started, but he cut me off by placing his hand to my mouth. "I go first. I need you to ask Rainn some questions. Just cut to the chase. No goofing off. Can you do that?" He said, words harsh and quiet. I nodded, uncertain. What did he need me for? Why couldn't he do it?
"Ask her who the Shadow Walker is. Push information. " He said. "Why can't yo-" I tried, but what yet again cut off, only this time, by his hand making the coffee table beside him. I raised my hands in surrender and slowly walked to the room. What was going on? Why couldn't he ask? Why me? I undid the deadbolt and chain lock, then placed my hand on the cool doorknob.
Why?
My heart began to pound and my hands sweat as I turn the knob. Opening it, I see Rainn locked to that bed type thing. "Hey," I said, not loud enough for her to hear. I tried again. "Jack told me to interrogate you," I managed, trying my best to smile. I think it was convincing enough. She frowned and looked down, and I wiped the sweat off on my shirt. "So...Who's the Shadow Walker?" I asked, relaxing a bit. She shook her head, then all the blood rushed out of her face. She looked at me, pure, raw, terror in her eyes. The color was fading out of them quickly, they grew bloodshot. Soon her pupils and irises were completely gone. "Ben...You...Go" she mumbled, barely audible. I crossed my arms and shook my head. I can be really stubborn if the situation calls for it, and this was one of these times. She began to shake, making the bed rattle. It seemed like she was clenching every muscle in her body, and she let out a squeak. "Jack!" I roared, and ran over to her. I tried to think of anything to do-- should I touch her?
Jack burst in as she let out a yell. Suddenly there was black stuff shooting from her mouth and eyes, she stopped shaking. It was still for a moment, then it shot higher in more amounts. "Do something! Knock her out!" Jack yelled, his voice laced with fear. I didn't know what else to do, so I swung my hand into her neck as hard as possible. "What now?" I yelled. There was a scream, a women's scream, that did not come from Rainn. I glanced over at Jack. He was a pale grey color. The blackness slowly flowed back into Rainn.
What now?
