Jeff brought me to the living room and told me to sit and wait a minute, and he would tell Slender what I said. There the boy from yesterday with the gash in his cheek lounging in a chair. I look over at him and catch him looking at me. "H-Hey! You are Rainn, I assume? Well, I mean, you m-might go by a different name (I don't really know...) But hi whoever you are!" He said very energetically. "Hi? Yeah, my name is Rainn..." I said. "So, are you a proxy? Paranormal being? Like what the fu-fuck are you?" He said in the same tone. "Um...We don't know that yet..." I answered. "Well, it wouldn't be like Slender to let a human into the mansion so you have to be one of those. Or maybe something else. But not human. I'm not fucking stupid, you know." He snapped. "Yeah, no, you're right!" I stuttered, taken aback by his sudden personality change. "So what's your name? You clearly already know mine." I said, trying to sound lighthearted so I don't accidentally offend him. "T-Toby! Ticci Toby!" He said, the energy returning to his voice. "Well, it's nice to meet you, Toby!" I said. He smiled and looked around as if he was making sure nobody was watching us.
He shrugged, leaned back, and began relaxing again. I raised my eyebrows and shook my head, smiling. The smile was gone in an instant: the voice was back again.
"You told Jeff about me? How dare you, you worthless piece of garbage! I have comforted you...made you worth staying alive, and you betray me? I will not have my own host turn on me! Leave. Leave this place now."
What? I thought. I can't leave! They-They will find me! It's useless! They will kill me! Please don't make me go... Please...
"Slender will know who I am! You have to leave! They won't kill you, I am the only one who can kill you. I am the Shadow Walker! You will not disobey me!"
There were a million thoughts in my head. The Shadow Walker? My Grandma was right? Fuck...
I stood up and began walking towards the door. Toby looked up. "W-where are you going?" he asked. "I'm just a little nauseous that's all. I'm just gonna get some fresh air for a minute." I said, surprised at how quickly the lie came. "Oh...Alright," He said in the dark tone of voice he used earlier. I opened the door and stepped outside. I head another door open behind me and Jeff came out of whatever room he and Slender were in. There was no sign of Slenderman anywhere. "Hey! What are you doing?!" He yelled. I calmly repeated the same lie I told Toby. He looked at me then sighed. "Fine. Keep the door open though, I'll go out too." He said. I panicked. How could I leave if he was following me?
We both stepped outside and leaned against the house. He tried to make conversation, but I shut it down quickly and subtly. I could only think of ways to leave. The Shadow Walker chimed in.
"Run"
Obediently, I ran. I heard Jeff shout and running steps behind me. I sprinted as fast as I could. My breathing became labored, as the running became too much for my damaged lung. I wheezed and gasped for as much air as I could take in. "Fuck! Rainn!" Jeff shouted from behind me, not too far away. I willed myself to run faster. Suddenly I was knocked to the ground, Jeff's weight pushing me to the ground. I rolled on my back and he punched my face. White pain shot across my vision, then little pinpoints of color. I brought my knee up and it connected with his nuts. He yelled in pain and placed his hands to his crotch, groaning and falling sideways. I scrambled to my feet and went into the same mad sprint. Jeff was in the dust at this point, so I climbed a nearby tree as high as I dared to catch my breath.
