I woke up in an unfamiliar room. It had wooden walls like a cabin but it had a very unusual marble floor. I was laying in a bed with white sheets and pillow and there were brown curtains around me. I looked to my left and there was a girl around my age, 15.
She held a glass with yellow liquid. Not like lemonade, it was a deep yellow almost golden. I sat up and she handed me the cup. She then walked out like she had more serious business to attend to. I sipped the drink, it was the most delicious thing ever. I expected it to take like lemonade but it tasted like my Mom's special milkshakes. I drank every last bit of it and set the glass on the stool next to me.
"Hey buddy!" Brody said happily, sticking his head through the curtains.
"Uh, hi Brody. What is this place?" I asked, very confused about my surroundings.
"I'll let Chiron tell you." He said with a mischievous smile. "Oh, I brought these for you" He added.
"Get dressed and come meet me outside." He said.
He grabbed the empty glass off the stool and set some clothes on it. So it wasn't a dream, my best friend is part goat. After he set the clothes down, out of nowhere he laid a crown woven out of lavender flowers on the orange shirt. Then he blushed and walked out.
I stepped out of bed and there was a sharp pain in my ankle. I gingerly tested it on the ground then stood up. My ribs hurt a little bit but the pain was mainly in my ankle.
I put on an orange shirt that said Camp Halfblood on it. In the center there was a little Pegasus. I then put on the pair of skinny jeans and the black and white vans. The clothes and shoes had fit me perfectly, I still have no idea how. I gingerly opened the curtains and saw a busy room. There were other curtains, some open some closed. I saw injuries all the way from, broken noses to severed limbs. I knew what I was going to be dreaming about that night. Then I walked towards the open doorway and stepped outside. What I saw outside was even crazier than the I inside.
I rubbed my eyes to make sure I was seeing correctly, and I was. There were horses and winged horses and chariots and swords and bows and armor and kids of all different ages. The youngest I saw was about ten and the oldest around college age. I looked to the side and was startled when I saw Brody staring at me.
He smiled and said "I love someone's reaction the first time they see camp."
"Wh...what is this place?" I asked, astonished.
"This is Camp Halfblood!" He replied. "Come on Kayla! This way, you need to meet Chiron."
I was so confused. Camp Halfblood? Half what, half goat like Brody? I hope I wasn't going to wake up one morning with furry legs. I ran after Brody dodging sparring kids and racing chariots. Brody ran over to a fairly humble looking farm house and I followed him in. We walked inside and I saw a middle aged man in a wheelchair. He had longer hair and a scraggly beard, he looked wise but not necessarily old.
"Hello Kayla." He said with a warm smile. "I am Chiron, welcome to Camp Halfblood."
"Half what?" I blurted out.
"We'll get to that." Chiron responded. "First, what do you think of Greek gods?"
