Adeline POV

-Prologue-

Niall had his hands wrap around my waist.

He was holding me close, now even closer. His body was warm I could feel it radiating onto mine.

Before I knew it, his lips smashed into mine in an instant. My body stiffened as an immediate reaction.

I pushed my hands up against his chest and pushed him away.

"You just want to use me." I told him.

"You have it all wrong, princess." Niall said as he licked his bottom lip.

-1 month earlier-

"Adeline! Come on, you will be late!" I heard from downstairs as I rushed to finish my hair.

Today was my first day of school in California. My parents moved out here after my grandmother's heart condition got worse and they wanted to stay with her in California.

I personally didn't care where we went, I would obviously miss my friends but sometimes a new start is good.

I had on a grey muscle tank and black skinny jeans. I finished my look with my black vans before heading downstairs.

"Good morning." I told my mother as I grabbed a piece of toast off of the plate in the kitchen.

"Good Morning. I talked to your new school last night and they said that a student will be waiting for you at the front doors to bring you to the office, so you can get your schedule."

My mother told me as she flipped the page in the book she was reading at the kitchen table.

"Thanks." I told her as I grabbed my phone and headed towards the front door. "See you when I get home." I announced as I scrambled getting my car keys.

I shut the door behind me and walked towards my car. It wasn't old nor new. It could run and that's all that mattered to me. I slung my book bag onto the passenger seat and started the engine.

I plugged in my aux cord and started playing my playlist, which included Fall Out Boy and Sleeping with Sirens. The music blasted as I drove.

I was so nervous for today, but hopefully I will power through it.

When I arrived in the parking lot I saw other students hanging out with their friend groups, you could tell how perfectly arranged they were.

It looked like the diversity at this school sucked. You could tell the difference between two people in a second but it looked as if, two people who liked two different things couldn't be friends, if that makes sense.

I walked toward the front doors of the school with my bag and my phone in my hand.

A petite girl with curly blond hair stood at the door. She had on a blue T-shirt and jeans. She looked as if she was looking a round for someone, so I guessed that she was the student waiting for me.

I walked up the steps and watched as the girl scanned the crowd. When her eyes hit mine she started to walk towards me.

"Your Adeline Rouge right?" She said smiling. "Yes." I tell her.

"I'm Callie, welcome to Pacific George High School, I'm a Junior here and I will be in most of your classes, so if you need anything feel free to ask." She told me smiling.

It seemed like she planned that speech.

"Okay thanks." I told her smiling ever so slightly.

"So follow me." She said sounding excited as she scurried into the front doors. I walked after her walking in between people.

After we walked past a few doors she stopped.

"This is the office." Callie told me as she opened the glass door. I walked in and we walked up to the person behind the desk.

"Good morning, can I help you two?" A sweet looking older lady told us from behind the desk.

"Yes, this is Adeline Rouge, she is new here and needs her schedule." Callie explained sounding proud.

"Oh sure, sweetheart, I have it right here." The older lady told us as she handed me some papers.

"Have a nice day, darling, swing by if you need anything else." She responded before looking back at the laptop in front of her.

Callie and I turned to walk out and back into the hallway.

As I opened the door I began to walk out and then my face collided with something, stopping me in my tracks.

I fell backwards onto the floor of the school. I looked up to see a boy wearing a flannel and dark jeans. He had on some kind of boots but I wasn't sure what kind.

He had curly brown hair that fell perfectly around his face.

"Are you okay?" He asked me as he leaned down to help me up.

"Oh, I'm fine." I said embarrassed as I grabbed my bag off the ground.

"I'm sorry." I said shyly as I put my phone in my pocket.

"No don't worry about it, I'm Harry by the way." He stated.

"I'm Adeline." I responded.

"Oh the new girl." Harry snickered.

"Come on, Adeline, we have to go." Callie whispered pulling on my arm.

Then I noticed the billions of tattoos that littered Harry's arms. He looked like a badass, I have to admit that.

I saw the piercing on his face that made him look unexplainably beautiful.

"Oh bye, I will talk to you later." I tell him as I get yanked away.

Once me and Callie get around the corner Callie stopped me.

"Don't talk to him, okay? He is bad, don't waste your time." She murmured to me so no one could hear.

"Why?" I asked her confused.

"He did something's that were bad, just don't trust him, he will just use you." She sneered at me as she walked away.

Well, there went my first friend.
