Audtions (Chapter 16)

We finally got through allllllll our classes and it was extremely boring. I waited outside the auditorium for Mj, Ned, and Peter. Eventually they all showed up and we walked into the theater and went to a table to sign in. We all chose seats next to eachother and grabbed some sheets of paper that had different scenes on them. The director went up into the stage to welcome everyone.
"Hello my little future Hollywood actors! For this shows auditions we're going to do Cold Reads which means I'll give you a random character to read in a random scene and you'll go up whoever else I call and you'll read through the scene."
She takes a little about past shows and who she was and blah blah and then she went off the stage and started calling students. After around 50 minutes of auditions she called all four of us onstage to do a scene. She had Mj play Rosalind which is the main characters name and had Peter play Jack who was the male lead. She had Ned play Luke who is Jacks best friend and I played Nelly who was supposed to be Rosalinds sister. It was scary at first but it became fun to be onstage with all of my friends.
After like 5-10 minutes of going through that scene we finished and got offstage. Ned, Mj, Peter and I were all called up onstage a few time after but never all of us together again. The auditions ended after two hours and the director said she'd post the cast list on the school website at midnight that night

"That was so much fun!" I said while skipping around my friends
"I mean it wasn't bad I'd just rather read" Mj said while shrugging.
"I think it was pretty fun." Peter said while shrugging his backpack higher up on his shoulders while Ned just nodded along. We were walking down the front steps as I watch a BMW pull up with Happy sitting in the front.
"Ooo who has a BMW?! That awesome!!" Ned beamed.
"Yea probably Flash" Mj said.
"Yea....." I agreed and then I pulled out my phone and texted Happy.

Hey my friends can't know I'm rich! Drive down the block and I'll meet you there
-Happy Bird- (your contact for Happy lol kinda like flappy bird but it's happy bird)
Are you serious?! I have to pick up your dad soon and then go food shopping

Yes, now go down the block and I will meet you there

Fine, don't take too long though

I slipped my phone into my pocket and saw Happy look up at me and then drive away. I turned back to my friends who were discussing the play.
"Hey guys I gotta go but y'all wanna get on a group call while we wait for the cast list later???" I ask while starting to walk away.
"Yea" they all said at the same time while starting to go their own ways.
I walked down the block and found the black BMW and got in the front seat to join Happy.
"Finally you made it! How was you day kid?" He asked as he was switching the car from park to drive.
"It was pretty good, I got to audition for the musical today!" I said with a huge smile on my face.
"I thought your dad said you couldn't?"
"He apologized this morning and told me it was ok to audition"
"Oh ok" happy said and turned back towards the road. We drove back to the Tower and then went inside.

It was about 10 PM and I pulled out my phone while laying on my bed. I went to our group chat and called Ned, Mj, and Peter to pick up. First Mj picked up then Ned and then Peter.
"Hey guys!" I said
"Hey" they all say back
We chatted on the phone until 12 which was when the cast list would be released.
"Guys it's time!!!!" Ned said unnecessarily loud.
I pulled up the list and immediately smiled as I read

"OML CONGRATS GUY!!!" I exclaimed
"Congrats to you (y/n)!" Ned said
"Aw thanks Ned and congrats Peter"
"Yea congrats Peter!!" Mj replied to my comment.
I was dead silent... "Peter?" I asked
"Yea yea thanks guys uh yea I just wasn't prepared for the male lead....I gotta go...goodnight!" Peter said and immediately hung up.
We all discussed how weird that was but after Peter reacted so weird the mood was sorta killed so we all said goodnight and went to bed.
Dear Diary,
Today was AWESOME!!!! My dad apologized for being rude and I got to audition and guess whaaaat! I got the lead!!!!! And Peter got the male lead!!!! EEK oh and Mj got Nelly and Ned got Luke but still Peter and I are playing live interests. I've spent time with him for a couple months and I think it's finally safe to say I have a crush on him but idk how he feels so it's gon stay private. Alright peace out
