Hugo's POV
I was reading while Sofia was still asleep. Sofia was sleeping peacefully until I heard tossing and turning and quiet sobbing.
I was on her window seat so I slowly walked closer to hear what she was saying or mumbling.
She mumbled as she tossed and turned, "Hugo.... "Dark wizard..... "Connor..... "Abandoned barn...."
I whispered softly as I walked closer and sit down next to her, "Sofia, Sofie?"
I shook her slowly since she was still asleep. Her head lolled from side to side before she woke up with a startled look at me.
She stuttered still startled, "H-Hugo?"
It took her a moment to realise what happened was a dream.
She leaned in gently to hug me, she let a shaky breath. I gently embraced her as I kissed her forehead.
I whispered in her hair, "It's okay." "Everything is okay, I'm here Sofie."
She smiled at her new pet name or nickname which ever way you want to put it.
She raised an eyebrow as she wanted to move the subject, "Sofie?"
I smirked as I put my hand in her hair, "Yeah it's something I like to call you since I need other names baby other than Sof, Sofia."
She smiled and blushed as she stayed in my arms, "Hehe okay but if you call me Sofie what should I call you?"
I pulled her closer as she nuzzled her nose in my chest, I asked with a smirk as I raised an eyebrow, "I don't know." "What should you call me?"
She was unaware the fact she was staring at me. She looked away quickly to stop herself from becoming bright red.
She asked still bright red with a smirk, "So what do you want to do now Hu?"
I shook my head with a smile, "No no no you have to rest." Then I realised she gave me a cute nickname. I smiled as I kissed her cheek, "Hu?"
She giggled as she nodded, "Yeah it's short." She paused as she smirked, "Yeah I know it's probably going to be annoying that's why I have another nickname for you if you don't like it?"
I said with a smile as I winked at her, "Okay but I already love the first nickname and I know it's just going to be as great."
She blushed as she smiled, "Gogo." "Since Hu-go." "Hu the first nickname and the second one Gogo."
I smiled down as I kissed her forehead softly, "I love it Fia."
We stayed in this position for a while. Before I asked her, "Sofie what was your nightmare about?"
She hesitated before sighing in a reassuring voice, "It's nothing really."
I looked at her for a minute before saying still not entirely convinced but didn't want to push the subject, "Okay whatever you say."
She soon fell back asleep. I left her room quietly. Looking for Stefan and Eliza who was in the living room with my family and Sofia's.
Stefan's POV
We saw Hugo standing at the door leaning against it.
I asked as I saw Hugo sit down, "So how is Sofia?"
He asked with a reassuring smile, "She's doing alright but how long will it take for the poison to reach her heart?"
I was dumbfounded since I was just going to ask him.
I answered as I rubbed his back reassuringly, "It depends how strong Sofia is." "And if I remember she is a strong girl if everyone here agrees." I looked at everyone in the room and they nodded as I continued, "Since it's a strong poison from the Dark forest." "It will be two months or so until it reaches her heart unless my father throws something else at us then less."
He nodded quietly as he asked, "Why do you still call Connor your father?"
I thought for a second before replying with a bittersweet smile as I remembered the good old days being young, "I think I still do because even though he was there for most of my childhood." "He was present for most of my moments in my life and milestones." But then he got a flashback while going through his old boxes so I guess he still is my father but when I was growing up, he became less present other than that he is my father whether he wants to be in my life or not that's what mother taught me anyway."
I said as I clasped my hands together, "Anyway we should get to bed now."
Everyone nodded and went to bed while me and my mother went to the guest room. In the morning, Hugo's family will leave and we'll stay to see what to do next.
