Run for your life and don't turn back
tw: blood, guns, traumatic experience, car accidents, thunderstorms
---
It was one of those days wherein the busy streets were now filled with silence and the sound of the crickets were the only ones heard. A full moon, and its light passing through a car's window which illuminates and gives light inside the vehicle. The busy street that was running out of cars too because of the late hour.
"You okay, sir?" Allen asked Chan who was having his eyebrows furrowed in frustration and his foot was tapping on the car floor vigorously.
"I'm fine...Just a little headache." Chan excused with his small smile.
"Are you sure? You have been staring outside for more than 5 minutes now. You do realize I have memorized your expressions already." Allen asked him again, adding the expression after due to his observation.
"I can assure you that I am okay, Allen. The usual arguement with my uncle and my cousin at the office is not surprising to hear. We're politicians after all." Chan answered, explaining a minor scenario-that usually happens a lot-to his younger cousin.
"I cannot help but be concerned about you too, sir. We have known each other since babies, some calls us twins back then because we have genes of the Ma family." Allen couldn't help but chuckle, turning to another road.
Chan does remember his childhood memories with Allen. He is his closest person after all and they grew up together. Just not until they were having their past 16 years of life, both of them grew mature and had their own focus of life.
"You were so busy though. I remember before you got so interested in being the Royal Guard, you were so good at racing. You come home with an outfit and an award. Uncle and Aunt would always be there during your races to support you. I wasn't able to catch up with you, also had this cold aura which made it harder for me to approach you." Chan answered him while remembering those times back when they were younger.
"That's because I had to remain my image to your family. A cold and a responsible person. You need protection, of course I had to be there to protect you." Allen pointed out his view and goal, Chan only gave a soft laugh about it.
From the mirror, he noticed a familiar car driving not to far behind them. It was late in the evening, Chan could be mistaken. But deep down, he could sense something was wrong as to why this car was following them.
He couldn't listen to Allen complaining anymore and just observed the car from behind, confirming that it was really following them.
"Allen..." Chan called him in such a tone.
The tone where Chan already sounds bery serious about something.
"Yeah?" Allen came back to his serious aura when he sensed how Chan was serious, looking at the elder from the rear mirror.
"What do you think of the car behind us... isn't it too familiar, and it has been tailing us for a while now." Chan slowly sat back and gripped on his seat belt after sensing something was wrong.
Allen looked through the mirror again and saw a very familiar car following them. He knows who this car belongs to. He had to make turns to different streets just to know if this car was really following them.
And then it hit him... it was the same car he saw this morning and people coming in with guns and bags.
Allen panicked for a moment, gripping on the steering wheel. His actions already confirmed Chan that they were being tailed.
