You guys understand by now that this book has some very serious triggers in every chapter, right? There will be many allusions to what happened to Roman and depictions of bad parenting and hophobia, panic attacks, therapy, ect.
I have my chapters prewritten before I post them, for this book. So I have 3-4 ready after this. I could have an updating schedule for this if I wanted to. But that also means that I may forget done warnings. I hope that, by now, you've already stopped reading if you can't handle the themes in this book. Read the description, if I haven't put general warnings there already, I will now. I'm going to stop putting warnings, purely because it's redundant at this point and I don't catch all of them, especially if I don't read through the chapters- which can get really long
It took Virgil 2 years to finally see that therapist he promised. It was another one recommended by Emile. The twins breathed a bit easier, now, though. It took Virgil a while to decide to take the effort. He finally buckled down and set up an examination when he had more scars on his body than he cared to show and experienced more mental break downs and panic attacks than he cares to handle. He asked the twins to sit with him through the examination and sit with him when he got the results.
"So...Virgil Xiet, correct? Are these family?"
"No..they're my friends, but I want them here with me."
The Doctor nodded, "Whatever puts you at ease. Now, Virgil...based on your examination, we have to diagnose you major depressive disorder, general anxiety, and panic anxiety. We will diagnose you prescriptions to help make it manageable and change whatever needs to be changed to make it beneficial. We recommend a session at least once a week, but you can call an appointment whenever you need one. Any questions?"
"Yeah..." Virgil said, "How much does it cost?"
"Mm...minimum of 200 dollars."
"That's it?"
"Yes, we're a charity based company and have government funding, plus we get regular donations. We don't believe you need to pay to be happy, and we make enough to pay salaries. Furthermore, you have no parent or guardian backing you up and you're a student still looking for a job- we make it as cheap as possible, and with minimum wage, being what students make, we believe 200 is reasonable."
Virgil nodded, "That's very doable. Um...can you admit him, too?" He gestured to Roman, who jumped and was just listening before now.
"What's your name, hun?"
"Uh..." Roman was shocked at this turning to him, "This is about Virgil-.."
"We can still fit you in for an examination."
He shook his head, "I'm good, miss."
"Alright...we're always open if you change your mind."
They spent the rest of the time discussing a plan for Virgil.

The sky is gray and the air is humid as it rains onto Roman, Virgil, and Remus.
Roman started to say something, "So-,"
Virgil turned on him, "Why didn't you accept the examination?"
"I'm fine, Virge...really, I am. Middle school messed me up a bit, but high school is better."
Virgil grabbed his arms stared at him with daggers of ice, yet somehow still warm, "I know why you wear hoodies in summer. I know why you hate bathing suits. I know why you get the biggest sized clothing while still looking presentable. I know why you flinch when people get near you. I know why you hide when someone compliments your appearance. I know why some days you go through the day as if you're not really there and some days you're there and no where else. I've seen you skip meals because you feel too sick to eat. You're still damaged, Ro..."
