Elaine's POV:

After Josh gave me a very stern look and a lecture on why Lizzie shouldn't have done the "suicide stunt" as he had described it; I flew back into the air. I looked down to where the three of them stood. I laughed when I saw Lizzie get smashed in a tight hug from Jonathan and a glaring look from Josh as he pointed to the ground, motioning for me to come back down.

"Come back down here before you get hurt," Josh told me as loud as he could.

I know he's not serious, so I just shook my head, laughed, and replied back, "Not going to happen. It has been a long time since I let my wings out."

He let out a breath of air. He should have known he would never win that argument with me. He crossed his arms which made his already beautiful muscles even more amazing. Oh Lord what's wrong with me? He's my friend; not a husband!

I moved my eyes away from him and to Liz. "Hey, sister, want to come with me?"

She looked up and smiled, "Yes, ma'am!"

"We will be back at the house before dark!" I called back to the boys staring at us in disbelief.

As we soared away, the two boys made protests, which we heard very well, but I told Liz to tune them out.

The two of us flew and laughed and talked and dived. We went above the entire city; it felt so good.

There's a wooded area on the outside of the city, and Liz decided to take a break there.

I slowed down when I neared the wide, lush green treetops so that I could land safely on a branch. My tree of choice is very tall and has brown vines twisting down the dark brown bark.

Lizzie rushed in after me. I've always told her not to do that-rush I mean. Before I could help her, she flew into thick branches until she hit the tree across from mine.

I watched for a moment to make sure she's fine and alive. When she moved on the surprisingly mostly flat branch, I jumped from where I was perched on to the branch right above her head.

Lizzie's hair is badly ruffled with twigs and leaves stuck in it. Her clothes were ripped, and her wings were a bit torn. I couldn't see her face, for it is still lying on the branch.

"Hey, you okay?" I asked with concern in my tone.

She slightly nodded; but other than that, she didn't move.

I gracefully flew off of my spot and hovered beside her. She's kind of heavy for me, but I managed to carry her to the shaded ground and laid her gently on her stomach. I figured I'd fix her wings first. I know how much it hurts when an angel's wings get scratched or torn.

Yes, I know this is gross, but it has to be done: angels have...special saliva; it heals wounds. With that being said, I spit on my hands and rubbed it on the tears. The wounds started to heal immediately, so I soon flipped Liz on to her back to assess the damage to the front.

"Thanks," she said softly.

I smiled, "Are you hurt anywhere else besides on your face and arms?"

"No, no I am fine." She tried to stand but fell.

"You are not fine, Lizzie." I said and bit my lip. How am I supposed to get her home? The suns starting to set, and Josh and Jonathan are going to start getting worried about us.

"I am. It's just a hurt ankle that's all."

"Okay, I'll take your word for it," I said "how does your head feel?"

"Fine. Can we go home now? I am tired."

"Yeah, are you positive you can get back alright?"

"Yes." She said, but she doesn't look good at all. Liz has that appearance like she's been from hell to earth to hell again and back to earth again. The only thing that looks fine is her wings because I fixed those up.

"Okay, but just let me clean you up some. And this will be our secret okay?"

She nodded her head as I went to work making her look perfect once again.
