Ronnie's P.O.V.
Walking through the crowded halls at my leisure I gripped onto my book bag strap. It'd been almost two years since I've been in school and now that I'm back, I'm an upperclassman.I could even graduate.
Looking down at my schedule my eyes scanned over the numbers "405" and the weird last name, "Bronkowski".
"Of course he'd teach science." I sighed.
Remembering the hallways from the tour they gave us I made my way to the class. Coming up to the open door as my teacher stood outside, I couldn't see his face but only his crisp white shirt. He had a tall stature and slightly broad shoulders, he also had a gold watch on his wrist.
"Remember Ronnie, introduce yourself to your teachers and shake their hand."
"Yeah and smile big."
Taking note of Hope and Gemini's advice I straightened my posture.
"Mr.Bronkowski?" I knitted my brows.
Finally getting a front view of him I stopped in my tracks.
He had dark skin and high top with a fade on the sides. His eyes were dark brown and he the best smile I'd ever seen. It was so warm and welcoming. Not to mention the dimpled chin and light stubble on his face.
"I'm Ronnie, Ronnie Lank. Today is my first day here." I greeted holding my hand out to shake. He looked down at my schedule before looking at me with a brighter smile, "Nice to meet you Ms.Lank." he said shaking hands with me.
"I knew you were coming so I printed out a syllabus for you." he smiled. He dug into his pocket handing me a folded white paper and a blue pencil with science equations and test tubes on them. Giggling at the pencil he questioned me, "Is there something funny?" he asked a little confused. I shook my head and waved my hand as I tried to stop my laughter.
"You just remind me of my-"
Thinking about Hope and my situation I just went with it.
"mom."
He nodded and smiled, "Oh okay. Well, you can call me Mr.B and just find a seat anywhere." he smiled. I nodded and walked inside. Right away I heard laughing causing me to look up. There was a boy and girl sitting in the back of the classroom. He was either hispanic or latino, he had tan skin and short wavy hair. There was a girl on his arm, she was black and had long braids in with a thick layer of lip gloss on her lips. She had braces and big eyes.
She was really pretty.
Taking the empty seat in the front I let out a breath sitting my book bag down.
"My mama bought me Bell Biv Devoe's album when it first came out. I still listen to Troop's though."
At the sound of Bell Biv Devoe I turned around. Listening in to the conversation the black girl was having with her, assumed, boyfriend.
Making eye contact I looked away and scooted my chair in.
I wonder if I asked, if she'd let me borrow the tape.
But I don't have a tape player...
"Good morning class." looking up the door to the classroom had just shut as Mr.Bronkowski walked in.
