Tapestries of white and gold draped across the walls of the barn, gold chandeliers hung low giving the room a warm aroma. Ribbon was tied on all the chairs, theres was a minor fight over whether it should be cream or silver but Harry got his way with cream. He said it should be calm and not stand out too much. Louis didn't mind him getting his way and he never has. There was a few men left to add the finishing touches to make it perfect, how they had planned for the last three and a half years, how they invisioned it would be.
Pink petals were sprinkled generously over the aisle, now that was something they wanted to stand out in wedding pictures, something they wanted people to be drawn to when fonding over the day for years to come. The rings were placed on a white plush cushion, waiting at the alter. The boys had spent months picking out and deciding between the perfect rings for eachother, neither had seen the others choice, they were waiting for the special moment.
Across the field stood the most beautiful house, it was where the boys and close family and friends were staying for the big day. Louis was upstairs pacing the white wooden floorboards, trying to remember and get comfortable with his vows. Reciting them word for word over and over like it was one of their songs they had to memorise. The footsteps had caught Liams attention - he was fumbling with his tie in the living room beneath the main suite - the constant creaking wasn't helping his focus. He decided to give up for now and see what was up with the groom to be.
He knocked on the door before slowly opening it because thats the polite thing to do. Sneaking his head through the small passage he had created, he saw Louis viciously biting at his finger nails whilst his head was bopping, a look that could only be descibed as 'well i should've known that, its quite obvious you don't say' printed upon his face.
"Tommo", the younger one called but there was no answer, he rolled his eyes before trying again "Tommo!"
This time Louis had noticed, his head snapped back sighing with annoyance when he realised who it was.
"Sorry lad but i just ain't got time""What?"
"I gotta memorise thsee ain't I so if you could make whatever you want quick so I can get back to it, that'd be so appreciated" he states, ending quite sarcastically.
"Are they your vows?"
"No payno they're instructions to a bouncy castle I just ordered, of course they're my fucking vows." At this point Louis was getting increasingly angry, he just wanted to learn his vows not have another pointless conversation over whatever bs Liam wanted.
"I was just wondering why there was so much pacing"
"Who's pacing, I'm not pacing."
"Lou-"
"Liam can you just fuck off please and leave me alone."
"Okay i was just worried," he whistled before leaving.
Over in the other side of the barn, in a cozy petite room sat Harry. A mixture of excitement, nerves and sadness filled his belly, on the one hand he couldn't wait to marry the man he had loved for the last 6 years but on the other he was nervous as fuck. He was scared that after this they would lose the excitement of their relationship, the cute 'i miss you even when i just saw you hours ago' vibe. He wasn't sure he was quite ready to let that go, not yet.
However, the biggest smile you could ever imagine was painted on his face as he was sat at the mirror, his sister one side and his mum the other helping him get ready. Harry had opted for the pink tie and Louis the white to match the 'theme' they were going for, Harry had the white handkerchief and Louis the pink to show how they complimented eachother greatly.
"Well get up, give us a twirl Mr Tomlinson," Gemma blurted.
"Hey not yet, don't jinx us." he warned, still grinning like the village idiot.
He got up, drifting smoothly over to the full length mirror, sighing because this was all they had been waiting for, all they had wanted since the day they met; the day they started planning."Ooo look at you, don't ya scrub up well" Anne cooed before kissing his cheek.
The two men were so different but so alike. Two halves of the same whole, they just fit together perfectly like two pieces of the same puzzle. But sometimes it takes a little longer to figure that out completely.
