*Alli's point of view*

Hanna texts me and asks if her parents can come to the room. I'm a bit surprised but I tell her that they can. I would love to meet her parents but I'm not afraid to stand up for myself or Hanna if it comes down to that. She promised they would be on their best behavior.
I'm currently reading Paper Towns to Grayson. The doctor said that talking to her could help her stay connected with us even if she can't hear us. But there's always a chance that she can so I'm doing everything I can do.
"Hi." I hear someone say from beside me. I look over and see Hanna and what must be her parents standing closely behind her. I get up from my chair and pull her in for a hug before I greet them.
"Mom, Dad this is Alli. Alli these are my parents." Hanna says as she introduces us. I can tell she's still very nervous.
"It's wonderful to meet you. I'm sorry we had to meet in a hospital room." I tell them.
"No need to apologize. I myself used to be a nurse so I've spend most of my time in a hospital. And please call us Robin and Thomas." Her mom says with a small laugh. She seems nice.
"So this must be Grayson?" Her dad ask.
"Yes. This is Grayson. She's usually much more talkative than this I swear!" I try to joke.
"I'm very sorry this has happened to her. To all of you. She looks like a very strong woman to pull through this." He replies.
"She is. She's the strongest one of us all. Your daughter is very strong as well. She's been the one holding me together through all of this. I don't know what I would do without her." I say as I look over at Hanna with a smile.
She smiles back and we spend the next 10 minutes talking about our life and just little things. They seem like very nice people I'm glad that Hanna has them back in her life. She seems much happier when they're here.
Out of nowhere everything starts beeping. I can't even tell which monitor it's coming from because there are so many. We all jump up in a panic as the line goes flat. No. It's can't. She can't do this. She can't leave.
"Help! Someone please! We need help in here!" I scream with tears running down my face. Before any of the doctors or nurses come in Hanna's mom jumps in and starts cpr to keep Gray's heart going. In shock I just stand back because I have no idea what to do. The doctors finally come in but Hanna's mom stay to help.
"Come on Grayson, stay with us, we need you." Robin says as she continues to do cpr. Hanna, Thomas and I are all escorted out of the room so that they can work. My head is spinning and my ears are ringing.
"Shh, baby, calm down. I know it's scary but they're doing everything they can do in there to save our girl." Hanna tells me with tears as well.
"I can't lose her. I can't." Is all I can get out. We sit there for about 10 minutes before it seems to calm down and Robin comes back out. The main doctor following behind her I can tell he has news.
"I'm sorry you had to witness that. Good news is, is that whatever happened seemed to help. A nurse is taking out the intubation tube right now and she should be breathing on her own. I'm sure exactly how long it'll take for her to wake up but it should be soon. If you have any questions you know where to find me." He says and walks away.
I can't believe it. She's going to be waking up soon? We all walk back into the room and it seems so weird to see her face without all the wires and tubes connected. I take my hand and stroke her cheek softly.
"We're here whenever you want to open those beautiful eyes baby. I love you so so much." I tell her. "Hanna is here too. And you have other visitors waiting to meet you."
Hanna comes over, wraps one arm around me and the other in Grayson's hand. She leans down and places a kiss on her cheek.
We all sit and wait patiently for the brunette woman to awake. Robin and Thomas offered to go grab some coffee for everyone. They come back with the coffee and ask if anything has changed. I tell them unfortunately not.
A few more hours go by and nothing. Hanna told her parents that they could leave if they needed to get home but they insisted on staying. I don't mind at all. I am very thankful to her mom who helped keep her alive when everything happened.
Suddenly I feel a finger twitch in my hand. I look up and I can see Grayson's eye flutter open.
"Hi. Welcome back." I tell her softly.
"Water." She croaks. I start to stand up and Hanna is already next to me with a cup of water and a straw. I thank her silently and give the water to the beautiful woman who's eyes I have been waiting to see for so long now.
"Thank you." She tells me.
"No thank you. Thank you for not leaving me. Thank you for waking up." I tell her starting to cry towards the end.
"Hey, don't cry, you're too pretty to cry." She says wiping my tears with one hand. "You really thought I would leave you? We haven't even gotten married yet." She says with a smile.
"There's a chapel down the hall." I joke. She laughs a bit but I can tell it hurts so I tell her to laugh in her head not out loud.
"Where's Hanna?" She asks. She looks around the room a bit and finds her. "Come here. I missed you too sweet heart."
"You scared me half to death. Don't ever do that again." Hanna replies.
"I'll try not to." Gray says to her. She looks around the room a bit more and notices the strangers standing in the corner.
"Sorry, I forgot to introduce you all. Grayson these are my parents. Mom, Dad...this is the wonderful Grayson." Hanna says.
"You seem to make my daughter very happy. I'm very glad you all have each other." Her dad tells Gray.
"You gave us all a scare there darling. But your levels look good, how do you feel?" Robin asks. Nurse and mom instincts both kicking in.
"I feel alright. My chest feels a bit sore. Actually my whole body feels sore." Grayson replies.
"Robin here actually gave you cpr for a little while when you crashed." I chime in.
"Thank you so so much. And your daughter means everything to me as well. She makes me very happy. We are both very glad she came into our lives and we wouldn't have it any other way." She smiles back at her with my hand in one of hers and Hanna's in the other.
Things finally seem to be getting better. I am so happy that Grayson is finally awake. The doctors came in and told her that she needs to take it easy for a while until she's fully healed but she can go home tomorrow if she passes a few tests they run.
Robin and Thomas head home after spending a little bit more time getting to know Gray and I. Grayson and Hanna's father seem to get along oddly well. I wasn't expecting her to be good with parents. She isn't really a people person most of the time.
Hanna comes over to me and sits on my lap. My chair is close enough to Grayson's bed that we all can kinda cuddle together. I will definitely be falling asleep with a smile on my face tonight.
