My life became a living hell after my dad lost his job. I couldn't even afford the college of my dreams, even though I didn't get in. I couldn't subscribe to netflix anymore. I wondered what Simon Basset was up to while I was away, hoping he didn't cheat on me.
At least we already settled half of our mortgage, so it wasn't that bad. I always thought that to console myself. Unlike everyone in the house who adapted to the changes that took place, I found it hard to adapt, always feeling like it shouldn't have happened, my dad shouldn't have lost his job.

"Hannah... Hannah, are you up already?"
My mum called out as she knocked on my doorIt was morning, so I struggled to get out of bed as always. I sluggishly walked towards the door and as I opened the door, I saw my mum standing there, looking excited while holding a piece of paper
"Good morning mum"
I greeted her, as I looked closely at the piece of paper she was holding. wondering what it was"This came in for you, it's from seattle central college"
My mum said as she handed me the paper"Thanks"
Looking uninterested, I grabbed the papers and went back into my roomI kept the papers on a shelf without opening it, and went back to bed
"Sweetie, make sure you check that out once you get out of bed. Okay?"
My mum said as she closed the door•

It was 10am already. I opened my eyes as the sun shined on my face.
I got out of bed and headed downstairs to the living room to grab something to eat. My dad was at the dining table, eating hurriedly, all dressed up like he had an appointment with the prime minister.
"Dad, why are you all dressed up?"
I asked as i checked him out"Feeling the outfit yeah? Tom Ford Style. Ain't that right?"
My dad said"Looks nice. You always clean up nice"
With a smiling face, I replied"I have an interview today at Hemsworth Industry. If I get the job, it's a huge deal for us infact. And it comes with a grant for tuition when you go to Havard University"
My dad said as he looked up at me with a smirk"The Hemsworth Industry?"
With a bug smile I askedThings were finally taking a good turn and finally I could smile and mean it for the first time in a long time
"But it won't if you just stood there. Help me grab my suitcase"
"Oh.. l'll get"
I smiled as I rushed to grab his suitcaseMy dad stepped out and while I drowned my sweet crispies in milk, I remembered the paper that my mum gave to me early that day. So I left my food and went upstairs to check it out
I opened up the paper and it was an admission letter to Seattle Community College, with all expenses fully paid
"What!?"
I exclaimedI hurriedly walked to my parent's bedroom to show my mum who was asleep, what was on the paper
"Mum, Mum!"
I whispered as I tapped her on the backShe turned and her eyes slightly opened, she said
"Sweetie, what's wrong?""Seattle College Just gave me an admission, all expenses paid. Did you and dad do this?"
