Chapter Seventeen

The brain loves patterns. It loves things that it knows. So it isn't that surprising that abused people would tend to be drawn towards more abuse.

The story that Todoroki painted who so realistic. It didn't start in the same place as Izuku's did. Todoroki's story started with his family.

Endeavor Todoroki, owner of a multimillion dollar company. Married to the daughter of the owner of a different multimillion dollar company. Father of four children.

The first child Touya Todoroki was supposed to take over the company but he disappeared and was never found. Next was Fuyumi Todoroki, Endeavor counted this one as a failure right off the bat. He didn't want a female taking over his company. Second to last was Natsou Todoroki, Endeavor had high hopes for him but once he found out Natsou had a learning disability he counted him out. Last was Shoto Todoroki, he didn't disappear, he was a male and he was neurotypical. The "perfect" son.

Endeavor didn't let Shoto spend time with his siblings. So Shoto was isolated. And if that wasn't enough his mother had a nervous breakdown one day and burned his face because he looked too much like his father.

His mother was sent away and he never saw her again.

When his father put him in a real highschool Shoto has so hopeful. He thought he would be able to make friends and have a semi-normal experience.

The was just wishful thinking though. Shoto didn't have any experience with social situations. So instead of making friends and having a great time he closed himself off.

One person never gave up trying to get through to him though. Izuku Midoriya. Shoto didn't understand why Midoriya was different but he was. So Shoto opened up to him. He let Midoriya in and soon enough they were dating.

He thought Midoriya understood him. So when Shoto didn't want to go to group event he thought Midoriya understood. Midoriya acted like he did.

Shoto never got to be around Midoriya's friends. Anytime he would bring up hanging out with them Midoriya would get upset. He would scream about not being good enough for Shoto and how his friends were so much better than himself. He consistantly accused Shoto of cheating and would call him a slut if he even looked at any other guy without permission.

Than Shoto's father called him away for a summer. He said Shoto needed to learn more about the family business. Shoto knew that if he told his boyfriend he wouldn't be able to go. And no matter how mad Midoriya would be his father was scarier. So he left and hoped that nothing bad would happen.

Midoriya didn't call at all over the summer. Shoto was worried and scared all summer but nothing happened until he came back. When he had to go back to his now influencer boyfriend who was being mentored by his father's life rival Toshinori otherwise known as All Might.

Midoriya was so happy when Shoto got back. The next few months were nice. Midoriya was sweet and Shoto almost forgot how mean his boyfriend could be.

That was until Shoto asked All Might to promote his company. All Might had happily accepted but Midoriya was not so happy.

Shoto thought it would just be a normal fight. Midoriya would get mad maybe stop talking to him, maybe yell, or throw things. But it wasn't a normal fight. It was a fight made public. Deku had a good lot of fans. When they were told that Deku had a boyfriend and they were in a fight they went crazy. Fans admittedly found any social media Shoto had ever had. They left comments and DMed him horrible things. They sent death threats, comments about his scar and how he deserved it. People told him that Deku should just break up with him.

Shoto felt so helpless. He couldn't just make a video explaining things. He didn't have a platform. So he did the only thing he could think of he begged Midoriya to do something. After a few days Izuku made the decision to try and call of his fans.

Deku made a video where he said that anyone who continued to harass Todoroki who be blocked. He made it very clear he would not publicly or privately discuss these people. It would be like they never existed.

The video got extremely popular. It was the best any of Midoriya's videos had ever done.

After the video was posted Midoriya made it very clear that the only reason that video was made was so Deku wouldn't look bad. He also made sure Shoto was aware that if that video had done poorly or gotten a bad reaction Izuku would have broken up with him in a instant.

But even through all the fight and the threats they stayed together. Shoto stayed for fear and Midoriya stayed for power.

Until Shoto couldn't stand anymore. He left without a word. He was afraid if he even left a note Midoriya would be able to find him. And Shoto didn't want to talk himself out of it. So he went back to his company headquarters. He went back to his father and the corporate life he never wanted. He went back because anything had to be better than being where he was.

Wow that was really hard to write. Does anyone have any predictions on what will happen next. And did any of you pick up on the writing change I did?
