Izuku went off to Shinsou's house the next day. Shinsou lived in the two bed, two bath with his little sister, Eri. Eri only lived with Shinsou on the weekends and in summer. Izuku had stayed at Shinsou's house before. After Todoroki left Izuku lived with Shinsou as a way to get away from everything else. Shinsou was a break from reality. One that Izuku realized he really needed right now.

---

But like we have said reality goes on. Whether you are on a break from it or not.

It goes on. Just like a coffee shop goes on with hiring the best person... or the richest. I mean if a multibillion-dollar company owner showed up to a job interview with a story about how they want to experience a more common life, you would hire them.

So in other words Todoroki applied for a job at the same coffee shop where Kirishima worked. And he got the job.

---

Kirishima went to work the day after Izuku agreed to take a break. He liked his job a lot. Of course, he wanted a better job eventually but he was okay with where he was for the time being.

He loved getting to meet new people and learning about interesting ways they take their coffee. He even loved dealing with the crabby unreasonable customers. He found them entertaining.

So Kirishima loved his job and he didn't believe anything could change that. That was until he walked into his work and saw Todoroki standing behind the counter with a small smile on his face.

Kirishima stood in the doorway of the cafe in shock. He thought that he could be wrong. That the chance of it actually being Todoroki was so low but so was the chance of mistaking someone else for him. His two-toned hair and scar were so distinctive.

"Kirishima? Can I help you?" Todoroki asks Kirishima from where he was standing behind the counter.

Kirishima shakes his head, some of his scarlet hair falls from his bandana and in front of his face. "Sorry, I am just tired. You must be a new hire," Kirishima forces a smile onto his face as he walks behind the counter. His head was spinning as he tried to figure out why Todoroki was at his work.

"Yes I am," Todoroki says a hint of pride in his voice.

"May I ask why you would get a job at a place like this when you should be worrying about your company?"

"I wanted to see what having a more normal life is like. I tend to run away from normal. I also found you interesting so I am happy that we can work together. Maybe we will even grow closer," Todoroki finishes his sentence then turns to a new customer not giving Kirishima a chance to respond.

Kirishima didn't know if he wanted to respond or not. He didn't know what to say to Todoroki. Rage bubbled behind his eyes, his hand curled up into fists as he recalled everything Todoroki had done to Midoriya. He watched as Todoroki talked to the customer with a charming smile. A snake smile.

If this situation was presented to Izuku, Kirishima was sure he knew what he would do. He knew that Izuku would punch Todoroki, he would have no fear or thought of the consequences.

But...Kirishima also knew that if he were to do that. Izuku would blame himself. If Kirishima got fired or sued. Izuku would never forgive himself.

So Kirishima took a deep breath, his fists slowly unclench and he walked away. Kirishima walked to the back where the drive-through was. Kendo was working on the mic, TetsuTetsu was handing out the orders, and Monoma was making the drinks. Of course, Monoma was grumbling about something or another but once he saw Kirishima he started complaining about Kirishima.

"Finally done with your little chat?" Monoma asks rhetorically.

"Monoma shut up," Kendo and Tetustetsu say at the same time.

Kirishima smiles a bit but his mind was still troubled with thoughts of Todoroki.

Kendo stood up, she carefully straightened out her spot then handed the headset to Kirishima.

"Well, boys I'm out. Have fun," Kendo waves goodbye and leaves.

Kirishima puts on the headset relief flooded him as he sat down in the chair. When he was working he didn't have to think of anything else.

---

Kirishima pulled off his headset, he handed it to Monama without saying a word. He walked to the front of the store and sat down in a booth. He wished that he could go home and talk to Izuku.

Kirishima looked up when someone sat on the other side of the booth. He met the heterochromatic eyes of Shoto Todoroki.

"Why are you sitting here?" Kirishima asks. He didn't bother to add his usual prep into his voice. He didn't want to waste energy on Todoroki.

"I just wanted to talk to you. I can tell he already told you what happened. I was just hoping that I could tell you my side of the story."

"I have absolutely no reason to listen to you and I have no reason to believe you but if this will get you to leave then fine," Kirishima says.

"Thank you," Todoroki takes a deep breath. "I-"

You guys waited so long for this chapter and it isn't even 1000 words. I am so sorry. Though I am going rant in this author note about the reason this chapter took so long to write. I am failing all my classes, I broke up with my boyfriend, my mental health is the worse it has ever been and I'm in competitive theater.

Anyways I hope you liked this chapter. If you did please vote and comment.

Have a good day/night/3am
