So seeming as Minty has abusive parents I wanted to write one where William adopted her. So just fluffy fluff.

William's Perspective

I watched as a small brown haired child ran past me, crying and screaming and throwing a fit. It seemed like she was running away from something... I need to help her so she doesn't get lost or most lost than she is. I followed her calmly and she looked back a me as she ran, slightly startled but also confused. She slowed down to a halt after a few blocks and stood with shaky legs, looking up at me with big round irritated eyes. "W-Why are you following me?" She asked and I subtly moved my hand close to hers. "I just wanted to make sure you're okay... Where are your parents?" I asked and she held my hand. "I don't want my parents." She said and I moved to pick her up. She let me scoop her up and I rocked her. "How about I go visit them and see how they treat you?" I suggested and she snuggled up to my shirt. "D-Don't let them take me back..." She whispered and I nodded. "Don't worry little girl." I said and she looked up at me. 

"I'm not supposed to talk to strangers... But you feel more like my daddy than my dad." She whispered and I smiled. "Thank you little girl." I said and she hugged me. "I'm Minty, not little girl." She said and I chuckled. "Fine, you're Minty. But what if I call you little girl? Whatcha gonna do?" I said playfully and started walking to the police station. She giggled and played with my hair. "I'm gonnaaaaa... Eat you!" She said and pretended to eat me. "Oh noooo I'm too handsome to diiieee-." I said and made really dumb dying noises. She giggled and hugged me, getting comfortable in my arms. "Where are we going?" She asked curiously and I rubbed her back. "Well once I get to the police station, they hafta find where your home is. And I bet if you tell them all the bad things they do, they might help you." I told her and she blinked. "They can do that?" She asked in awe and I petted her hair. "Yeah, they can help you and even get you different parents if yours are too bad." I told her and smiled when she hugged me tighter. "Thank you! Uh- whatever your name is." "William." "Thank you William." She said and sleepily blinked.

"Do you think I can take a nap William?" She asked and I put my coat on her like a blanket. "Of course, go ahead." I told her and she rested her head on my shoulder. After a few moments she was happily snuggling my shoulder and sleeping. I carried her to the police station and after many hours of sorting out things, Minty was crying because they might bring her back. "Alright, alright, the most we can do for now would be to call her parents and talk to them. If she won't allow herself to stay at the house, we can always get a social worker to help her in the house." The policeman said and I scooped up the small sobbing and screaming child. I rocked her slowly and she eventually stopped crying, hugging my shirt and sniffling. "Shhh, it's okay Minty. I know you'll be okay." I whispered and she quietly begged me to save her. I sighed and hugged her, trying to comfort the poor girl the best I could.
